Another busy week at MBH Home Services, and this one included a project that turned out to be quite a bit more involved than we originally understood! But more importantly, we found out that Stephen is not a fan of the new seltzer that got stocked in the shop fridge.

The client wanted an auto detailing station mounted on the garage wall. What we didn't fully appreciate at first was that he had a much bigger vision in mind: a dedicated, bumped-out panel finished with shiplap, with water lines run to the station. We don't take on major plumbing work because we stay within the limits of our licensing and insurance, so we connected him with a trusted local plumber for that part of the project. We handled the buildout and designed it so the plumbing can be connected easily. The result is a dedicated space for his detailing equipment, with everything organized and ready for the next stage. Sometimes a project takes a little more planning than expected, but that's part of getting it done right!

We also rebuilt a fence gate, installed a new exterior door, reversed the opening direction of an interior door, added a closet system, repaired drywall, hung pictures and curtains, and mounted two TVs. From custom buildouts to the little things around the house, no two weeks at MBH are quite the same.

MBH Home Services improves how people live in their homes. Every home is different, and every homeowner has a unique challenge to solve.

This week, it seems like every challenge involved a door. We rebuilt a wooden gate, replaced an exterior door, installed a new storm door, rescreened a wooden screen door, and installed a new patio door with a built-in dog door. At this point, if it opens, closes, swings, latches, keeps the dog where the dog is supposed to be, or let's the dog go where it wants, there’s a pretty good chance MBH was involved.

And of course, we didn't stop at doors. We also installed a custom closet system, hung TVs, installed ceiling fans, replaced air filters, performed hot water tank flushes, and took care of plenty of the smaller things that keep a home running the way it should.

Whether it’s a door that needs replacing, a project that needs some problem-solving, or just a growing list of things you've been meaning to get around to, MBH Home Services is here to help get it done right.

MBH Home Services improves how people live in their homes. Every home is different, and every homeowner has a unique challenge to solve.

This week was another one of those weeks that shows just how much goes into keeping a home working the way it should. We installed some crown molding, some ceiling fans, adjusted doors that refused to close or latch properly, installed a new kitchen sink faucet, built and installed custom shelving and a custom closet system, repaired a sink that had broken away from the countertop, rescreened a patio, painted a door and replaced another, and took care of a few of those smaller projects that make a house feel a little more like home — including hanging an American flag, installing a squirrel (sorry, bird) feeder, and mounting a hose reel.

Whether it’s a bigger project, a repair that needs some problem-solving, or one of those small things you’ve been meaning to get around to, MBH Home Services is here to help get it done right.

Sometimes the job isn't about installing something new — it's about fixing something that wasn't done right the first time.

This week kept the MBH Home Services crew busy with a little bit of everything: we re-screened a patio, installed ceiling fans, hung pictures, built a garbage can enclosure, re-caulked a shower, and tackled plenty of other projects throughout Cane Bay and Nexton.

We were also brought in to repair a board-and-batten entryway that had been installed by another local contractor a few months earlier. Unfortunately, the original installation didn't meet the clients expectations, so our job was to correct the problems, and get the entryway looking and functioning the way it was intended to from the beginning. Doing the job right matters — and it's an honor to know that we are the ones that called when projects need to be done right.

We also helped a local Realtor's client get across the finish line this week, completing several small repair items needed to facilitate a home closing. These jobs may be small, but when a closing deadline is approaching, having a reliable contractor who can get in, take care of the details, and keep things moving can make a big difference.

Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families, friends, and communities forever changed by that day.

We remember the first responders who ran toward danger, the service members who answered the call, and the countless ordinary Americans who showed extraordinary courage and compassion.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember the sacrifice. We still remember the unity. And we will never forget.

At MBH Home Services, some projects are finished in a day. Others take a little more work.

We've been spending this week deep in a couple of larger projects, and while they're not quite ready for the big reveal yet, we're making great progress. There's been plenty of measuring, building, installing, problem-solving, and—apparently—standing on step stools while holding things over our heads. 😂

That's one of the things we love about this business. No two homes are the same, and every project brings a different challenge. Sometimes the work is simple. Sometimes it takes a little more planning, a little more teamwork, and a lot more time.

We're looking forward to showing you the finished results, but for now, here's a little behind-the-scenes look at what we've been up to this week.

Every home is different, and every homeowner has a unique challenge to solve. MBH Home Services improves how people live in their homes.

This week was a busy one, with two major installs underway along with plenty of smaller projects in between. We laid a beautiful herringbone brick patio that we're looking forward to grouting next week, stained a deck, installed light fixtures, and helped our sister company, MBH Woodshop, with their latest installation.

That project came with a little unexpected excitement when a custom French door with sidelights arrived slightly larger than the opening we had prepared. Since we had built the new wall and framed the opening to the dimensions provided, we had to adjust the schedule while the door was rebuilt. That's construction sometimes! We'll be back Monday to help MBH Woodshop get everything wrapped up.

We also continued training our newest team member, Chad, who got plenty of hands-on experience this week learning the MBH way. We're excited to have him on the team and watching him get more comfortable with the work every day.

Another busy week in the books, and we're already looking forward to the next one!

MBH Home Services is growing!

This week was exciting! We welcomed Chad to the MBH Team, and we're happy to say he's already off to a great start. Bringing on another employee is a big step, and we're excited about what it means for our ability to serve the homeowners of Cane Bay and Nexton.

We also took some new company photos this week - something we probably should have done a long time ago! Behind the flashy vans, the shop full of tools, and all the projects we complete is a team of people who take pride in what we do and genuinely enjoy helping homeowners improve their homes.

This week kept us busy installing grab bars to improve accessibility, prepping a large patio for staining, installing beautiful pendant lights, replacing worn weather stripping and an exterior door, hanging a porch swing, replacing a leaking tub faucet, completing several water heater flushes, and tackling many other projects throughout Cane Bay and Nexton.

We also completed several repair items to help a local home get ready for closing — homeowners and local real estate professionals trust MBH Home Services to deliver quality work and help keep things moving when deadlines matter.
