About a week ago, I was on a prospecting mission with a friend in New Hampshire and we came across an area that neither of us had explored much yet. I came home with this tiny, gemmy Topaz crystal floater and a small cluster I will share once it’s all cleaned up! This is my first ever find of topaz and I’m so excited to go back to find more!

The bugs were bad but the finds were great! It was a great day to get away and explore! If anyone knows the flower that isn’t the lady slipper please let me know in the comments below! Have a great day everyone!

Last Weekend Sarah .princessgoat found this 67 Carat Gem Rough Aquamarine at an OCMGA club trip we attended to Mt. Mica in Paris, ME. I had just picked a spot to work and she was getting her chair set up. She held up a shiny rock and asked me “Is this glass?” I turned around and almost fell over when I saw it. I smiled and held it, feeling its heft and then smiled some more. “Nope, that’s the largest gem rough piece of aquamarine I’ve ever seen.”
Today is our 12th Anniversary and I’ve been thinking of all of the times I’ve taken her out to the spots I’ve prospected, and she always, always has the best finds of the day. Sometimes the best finds ever for us for that location. Here’s some of our adventures and finds (near the end) over the years. I appreciate her for so so many reasons…inspiring me to try to find the best minerals I can every time out is definitely one of them!

AUDIO UP FOR MY PRICELESS AUTHENTIC REACTION I Recently Opened a Pocket Of Smoky Quartz Crystals! The Plate That Came Out Surprised Me Because It Was Twice As Long As The Smaller Plates That Came Out First. What Will I Get Into Next?!? (In this pocket…and in general?)

It’s always great pulling crystals out of pockets, but sometimes (more often than we’d like) crystals come out broken. Sometimes the parts are useful, sometimes they are like gravel. This one showed me what’s possible for size for the area, but left some things to be desired. The prospecting continues….
Thanks for watching!

In January, .princessgoat and I got an exclusive opportunity to visit the mineral vaults beneath the Harvard Natural History Museum. It was one of the most inspirational museum visits of my life! It sure gave me a lot to think about! Here is just the start of some of the things we got to See and HOLD! I’ll be sharing some of these throughout the year when I feel that we all could use some more inspiration for our collecting seasons! Here’s to the future! 🥂!!!
(Thanks again to Kevin, who made this trip possible!)
