“Greg started growing grapes in the Puget Sound AVA in the early 2000’s as part of research project WSU was conducting on producing high quality wine varietals in this region. Being a fan of red wines, Greg experimented with multiple red wine varietals from different parts of the world with similar climates on different root stocks. After years of trials he found three varietals that did indeed produce the necessary sugars, acids, and flavors to create the kind of high end reds that could revolutionize the Puget Sound AVA potential. When Greg and his family moved to Sumner in the winter of 2014 they immediately planted the small Shiloh Estate vineyard with Pinot Noir, Regent, and Golubok. With the vines now in full production, Shiloh Estate Cellars produces about 100 cases per year of their unique, delicious, and exceptionally rare Puget Sound reds. We also partner with some exceptional vineyards, mostly the Casad Vineyard from the Red Mountain AVA, to produce even more amazingly flavorful red wines and blends that are unique to Shiloh Estate Cellars.”
