Thank you Sumrall Police Department and Oloh VFD for the quick response and all the help in rescuing an elderly female and her daughter who were trapped in their home after a tree fell across it. Yes there really is a house under there! Thankfully, no one was injured.

You better let them know!! 🤣🤣🤣

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re standing behind the heroes who stand for us every day. 🇺🇸🚔🚑🔥
Military members, veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, and first responders carry invisible battles that too often go unseen.
We’re asking our community to join us in showing support for mental health advocacy and breaking the stigma surrounding trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and su***de prevention.
💚 Here’s how you can help:
✔️ Wear green this week for mental health awareness
✔️ Thank a service member or first responder
✔️ Check in on someone who may be struggling
✔️ Attend an upcoming awareness event/community discussion
✔️ Help us spread the message: “It’s okay to ask for help.”
No hero should fight alone.
Drop a 💚 in the comments to show your support for military and first responder mental health.

Over the course of the next couple of days, all of our fire hydrants will be tested. This might impede traffic somewhat, due to most hydrants being near the roadway. Please be careful and be patient with us as this is a necessary act to help keep our fire rating low and to help protect life and property.

It seems to be moving more into south Lamar County, but don’t let your guard down yet.

Sumrall, take cover now!

5/6/26 545p -- Quite the hook on this storm outside of Tylertown. Tornado warning in effect. It'll be moving northeast.

If you live inside the blue circle, it's time to get to where you're headed and keep tabs on the radar.

No need to take shelter outside the tornado warning itself, but just "be" somewhere soon so you aren't caught out on the roads when this thing scoots by.

If nothing else, it's raining bucket loads, with a TON of lightning and some hail in there, too.
