🏔️😱 RECORD-BREAKING DAY ON MOUNT EVEREST!

On 20 May 2026, more than 270 climbers and guides successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest (8,848.86m) from the Nepal side within an incredible 11-hour period, making it the busiest summit day in Everest history! 🇳🇵

According to Khimlal Gautam, Chief of the Department of Tourism's Everest Field Office, this remarkable achievement surpassed the previous Nepal-side single-day record of 223 summits, set on 22 May 2019.

A combination of delayed rope-fixing operations, caused by challenging early-season weather and a massive ice block in the Khumbu Icefall, compressed hundreds of climbers into a narrow weather window. As a result, a long "serpentine queue" formed high on the mountain, stretching through the famous Death Zone above 8,000 meters.

Despite the challenges, climbers and guides from around the world successfully seized the opportunity, creating a historic day on the world's highest mountain.
