Your cameras are working. That is not the same as having the footage.

When an incident happens and someone needs video from three weeks ago, will it still be there?

Recording retention depends on storage capacity, camera count, resolution, frame rate, compression, recording settings and activity. If those weren't considered when the system was designed, footage may be overwritten long before anyone realizes it.

Before you need the footage, know how far back your system actually goes.

Just another day for our amazing Vision Concept field technicians.

Out with the old and in with the new. As technology changes, some things outlive their usefulness. That was the case for a project involving underground copper cables. The conduits were full but new fiber needed to be installed. VCT was called upon to remove the outdated copper lines. Once the copper was carefully removed from the conduit and the cable was removed from the site, our next step was to install a new underground fiber optic line.

Just another day for our amazing Vision Concept field technicians.

A typical work day of a VCT field technician can be long and very stressful at times. But that is not always the case. It seems the boss man caught them on a day that was not that stressful at all. Parked inside a heated warehouse, they didn't have to unload the lift in the snow and were able to splice fiber on the ground. They also passed a Sheetz a few miles down the road so lunch was good as well. These VCT techs attempted to pass this off as OTJ (On The Job training). Luckily, the boss man bought that story!
