Just another day for our amazing Vision Concept field technicians.

A customer had a performance issue with some existing fiber installed by another company. VCT tested the fiber and found that there was a mixture of different sizes and types that were used, causing the issues. We proposed a new solution using only single mode fiber and a different route to the building that needed service. VCT buried a portion of the fiber line and the rest was aerial. A big "Thank you!" for Indco Electric Company for the use of their bucket truck that day.

Voice communications and cabling is a core competency for VCT. However, what do you do when traditional connectivity is cost prohibitive? One of our customers needed a solution for emergency phones that did not have traditional limitations. VCT designed a solution that utilized solar and cellular technologies to meet the customers requirements. In this solution, the solar panel charges a large battery in the base of the tower allowing the emergency phone to work for several weeks, even when there is no sunlight. Not only did we install the emergency tower call locations, we also monitor and maintain them on an ongoing basis, to ensure reliability.

VCT was recently contracted to complete a project for a local preschool. We were asked to install large, flat-screen monitors and sound reinforcement systems in the classrooms. We also set up building-wide paging, fiber optic and data cabling, wireless access points, and IP phones. Throughout the process, VCT coordinated with the general contractor and other trades to ensure the project was completed and delivered to the customer on time.

Business continuity and logistics are key focuses for a field technician, requiring the ability to solve problems and maintain services for customers. Recently, we assisted a customer undergoing an extensive office and warehouse remodel. During a significant portion of the project, the customer needed to relocate to a modular unit in the parking lot. VCT collaborated with the customer and local permitting authorities to facilitate the transition, extending data access to the modular unit and relocating their communications equipment. Once construction was complete, VCT seamlessly reversed the temporary changes and installed a new network rack, ensuring a smooth transition back to their permanent workspace. Out with the old and in with the new. As technology changes, some things outlive their usefulness. That was the case for a project involving underground copper cables. The conduits were full but new fiber needed to be installed. VCT was called upon to remove the outdated copper lines. Once the copper was carefully removed from the conduit and the cable was removed from the site, our next step was to install a new underground fiber optic line.
