CRRUA has repaired a water line break that impacted a section of Airport Road from Pete Domenici Boulevard to Harrier Drive.

Now that service is restored, water pressure may remain low for a short time while the lines are pressurized, and customers may notice temporary water discoloration caused by naturally occurring minerals in the distribution system. CRRUA recommends waiting until the water runs clear before washing laundry. The discoloration should clear within 24 hours. If it persists, customers should run cold water for several minutes until it clears. Those who continue to experience discolored water should contact CRRUA Customer Service at 575-589-1075 or the after-hours emergency line at 575-202-7173.

Temporarily Wastewater Service Outage in Livingston Loop Dr./Rio Bravo Blvd. Area
(Posted 10-13-2026) CRRUA will temporarily interrupt wastewater service in the Livingston Loop/Rio Bravo Blvd, area to perform necessary repairs on 10-13-2026. Please check back here or visit www.crrua.org to be notified when repair is complete.

Businesses and offices served by private sewage pumps must turn off their pumps during the repair period. If you cannot turn off your pumps, stop all water use that sends wastewater into the sewer system, including flushing toilets, using sinks, and allowing faucet water to enter drains.

Please notify employees and visitors of these restrictions. Keep pumps off or continue restricting water use until CRRUA confirms that service may resume. Please visit www.crrua.org to be notified when repair is complete.

Rio Grande Overflow Impacts CRRUA Wastewater Collection Infrastructure

(Posted 10-01-26 @ 9:07 a.m.) The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) is monitoring impacts to a section of its wastewater collection infrastructure resulting from overflow and elevated water levels in the Rio Grande following recent heavy rainfall.

“Excess water entering the wastewater collection system places additional stress on sewer infrastructure and increases the potential for overflows,” said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby. “CRRUA crews are on-site addressing the situation and assessing conditions."

Crosby encourages residents to remain alert for unusual sewer odors or other signs of potential wastewater system issues in the area along McNutt Road from Sunland Park Drive south to the wastewater treatment facility near the Racetrack Drive intersection.

Crosby requests that anyone who notices sewer odor or other potential warning signs to please report it to CRRUA immediately by calling 575-589-1075 during office hours or 575-332-1076 OR 575-202-7173 after hours.

CRRUA will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates on its website at crrua.org and page as additional information becomes available.

El desbordamiento del río Grande afecta a la infraestructura de recogida de aguas residuales de CRRUA

(10-01-26 @ 9:05 a.m.) La Autoridad Regional de Servicios Públicos del Camino Real (CRRUA) está monitorizando los impactos en una sección de su infraestructura de recogida de aguas residuales debido a desbordamientos y niveles elevados de agua en el Río Grande tras las recientes lluvias intensas.

"El exceso de agua que entra en el sistema de recogida de aguas residuales supone una presión adicional sobre la infraestructura de alcantarillado y aumenta el potencial de desbordamientos", dijo el director ejecutivo de CRRUA, Juan Crosby. "Los equipos de CRRUA están en el lugar para abordar la situación y evaluar las condiciones."

Crosby anima a los residentes a mantenerse alerta ante olores inusuales en alcantarillado u otros signos de posibles problemas en el sistema de aguas residuales en la zona a lo largo de McNutt Road, desde Sunland Park Drive hacia el sur hasta la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales cerca de la intersección con Racetrack Drive.

CRRUA Passes September 2026 Operational Control Arsenic Tests

(Posted 9-30-26 @ 11:29 a.m.) The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) passed its monthly operational control arsenic tests for September 2026, as verified by an independent laboratory. CRRUA provides water and wastewater services to Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, NM.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) for arsenic is 10 parts per billion (ppb).

Test results released by Eurofins Environment Testing, a water lab certified by the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), show the Sunland Park Arsenic Treatment Facility (ATF) at 9.4 ppb, Santa Teresa Community ATF at 4.5 ppb, Santa Teresa Industrial ATF at 6.6 ppb and Border Entry ATF at 6.8 ppb. The test results are from samples taken Sep. 14, 2026.

“CRRUA continues to provide water that is compliant with arsenic standards under the Safe Drinking Water Act,” said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby.
