Road work is wrapping up at Futurity Drive and Trifecta Drive. The intersection is expected to reopen June 16, 2026, pending final paving and weather conditions.

Crews completed critical wastewater repairs and infrastructure improvements to reduce future service disruptions. Thank you for your patience during this project.

Temporary Water Service Interruption: Aspen Drive and Birch Drive

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) is conducting planned repairs on the water system in the Riverside area. Effective June 10, 2026, water service has been shut down for all properties located on Aspen Drive and Birch Drive. CRRUA operators are on-site completing the necessary maintenance, and utility service will be restored as soon as the repairs are finalized.

Temporary Road Closure: Calle Carousel

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) has closed Calle Carousel between McNutt Road and Calle Madero to accommodate infrastructure upgrades within the Anapra subdivision. Effective June 9, 2026, this closure is active and requires all motorists to utilize Calle Morroco as the designated detour for entering and exiting the subdivision. Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes and exercise caution when traveling through the area while CRRUA crews complete these upgrades.

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) is conducting emergency infrastructure repairs. CRRUA operators are currently on-site working to resolve the issue.

Effective immediately, June 9, 2026, the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) has initiated water system repairs at Fir Court; due to utility infrastructure routing, surrounding areas and adjacent streets within the Riverside subdivision may also experience low water pressure or a complete service interruption while CRRUA operators are on-site actively completing the work.

Water Service on Bronze Hill Avenue Restored (Posted 05-31-2026 @ 9:17 a.m.)
Water service along the 900 block of Bronze Hill Avenue in Sunland Park has been restored following repairs to a service line break.
Now that service is restored, customers may notice discoloration due to naturally occurring minerals in the distribution system. CRRUA recommends waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry. The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, customers should run cold water for several minutes.

CRRUA Passes May 2026 Operational Control Arsenic Tests (Posted 05-27-2206)

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) passed its monthly operational control arsenic tests for May 2026, as verified by an independent laboratory. CRRUA provides water and wastewater services to Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, NM.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) for arsenic is 10 parts per billion (ppb).

Test results released by Eurofins Environment Testing, a water lab certified by the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), show the Sunland Park Arsenic Treatment Facility (ATF) at 6.5 parts per billion (ppb,) Santa Teresa Community ATF at 4.8 ppb, Santa Teresa Industrial ATF at Non-Detect and Border Entry ATF at 4.9 ppb. The test results are from samples taken May 12, 2026.

Non-Detect means that while arsenic was present, the concentration in the samples tested was too low to reliably measure based on the analytical procedure used.

“CRRUA continues to provide water that is compliant with arsenic standards under the Safe Drinking Water Act,” said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby.

CRRUA personnel are responding to a water main break in the Doña Ana County International Jetport area. To execute necessary line maintenance, water service has been temporarily suspended for properties and businesses within this sector.

The service suspension will remain in effect until repairs are finalized. Facilities and aviation businesses along Airport Road—including the flight academies, weather service offices, and surrounding hangars—are advised to adjust operations accordingly. Crews are on-site working to resolve the issue as efficiently as possible, and updates will be provided as verifiable field developments become available.
