Water Outage Notification Anapra Area (Posted 09-06-2026 @ 7:25 p.m.)
Please be advised that the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) is performing emergency repairs on a construction-related water line break in the Anapra area, which may result in residents experiencing low-to-no water pressure. Additional information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.

Once service is restored, water pressure may remain low for a short time while the lines are pressurized, and customers may notice temporary water discoloration caused by naturally occurring minerals in the distribution system. CRRUA recommends waiting until the water runs clear before washing laundry. The discoloration should clear within 24 hours. If it persists, customers should run cold water for several minutes until it clears. Those who continue to experience discolored water should contact CRRUA Customer Service at 575-589-1075 or the after-hours emergency line at 575-202-7173.

CRRUA Passes August 2026 Operational Control Arsenic Tests (Posted 08-28-2026 @ 2:01 p.m.)

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) passed its monthly operational control arsenic tests for August 2026, as verified by an independent laboratory. CRRUA provides water and wastewater services to Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, NM.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) for arsenic is 10 parts per billion (ppb).

Test results released by Eurofins Environment Testing, a water lab certified by the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), show the Sunland Park Arsenic Treatment Facility (ATF) at 6.2 ppb, Santa Teresa Community ATF at Not-Detected, Santa Teresa Industrial ATF at Not-Detected and Border Entry ATF at 5.7 ppb. The test results are from samples taken Aug. 18, 2026.

Not Detected means that while arsenic was present, the concentration in the samples tested was too low to reliably measure based on the analytical procedure used.

“CRRUA continues to provide water that is compliant with arsenic standards under the Safe Drinking Water Act,” said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby.

CRRUA provides all arsenic test results on its website at crrua.org and on Facebook at facebook.com/crruainfo.

Update to Temporary Water Outage on Aspen Drive. (Posted at 5:47 p.m. on 08-13-2026)
Good afternoon. CRRUA has successfully relocated the water main, and crews are working to restore normal water pressure to the Aspen Drive area. Customers may continue to experience temporarily low water pressure while air is being removed from the system.

As service is restored, customers may notice temporary water discoloration caused by naturally occurring minerals in the distribution system.

Background:
There was a temporary water outage today while crews relocated a water main as part of the Riverside Lift Station Improvement Project. The water main relocation is a component of CRRUA's construction of a new lift station in the Riverside area, a project designed to significantly reduce wastewater backups and sewage overflows. The new lift station will replace the existing vacuum station, which has experienced equipment failures that resulted in sewage spills.

Thank you.

CRRUA Announces Temporary Water Outage on Aspen Drive /
Part of CRRUA/City of Sunland Park Riverside Improvement Project

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) is advising residents on Aspen Drive of a temporary water outage scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, beginning at approximately 8 a.m. while crews relocate a water main as part of the Riverside Lift Station Improvement Project.

The water main relocation is a component of CRRUA's construction of a new lift station in the Riverside area, a project designed to significantly reduce wastewater backups and sewage overflows. The new lift station will replace the existing vacuum station, which has experienced equipment failures that resulted in sewage spills.

The City of Sunland Park was awarded a New Mexico Colonias Grant on Sept. 18, 2025, to fund the vacuum station replacement. Lift stations move wastewater from lower to higher elevations, allowing it to continue flowing to wastewater treatment facilities.

"Once the new Riverside lift station is operational, residents in the area can expect a drastic reduction in wastewater spills," said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby.

The Riverside Lift Station Project is a collaborative effort between the City of Sunland Park and CRRUA and builds on the Riverside Drive road improvement project completed in May 2025, which included significant upgrades to the neighborhood's water and wastewater infrastructure.

CRRUA will notify residents when the water main relocation is complete and water service has been restored.

Once service is restored, customers may notice temporary water discoloration caused by naturally occurring minerals in the distribution system.
