In Part 3 of with Alexander Debkaliuk, Head of Design Ex*****on, we look at how he approaches creative problem-solving, where creative solutions don’t come from shutting ideas down early, they come from working through them.

That’s how he approaches working with his team. He’s not quick to say no, block ideas, or settle on “there’s no other way.” There’s usually a path forward, even if it means working through compromise to get there.

At the same time, he’s direct when it comes to advice and feedback, giving it, seeking it, and keeping that exchange open, because that’s how teams improve.

In Part 2 of with Alexander Debkaliuk, Head of Design Ex*****on, we look at how his thinking takes shape in the early stages.

He has a way of working that his team would recognise straight away, where walking into a room he’s been in usually means finding whiteboards filled with rough sketches, scattered notes, and ideas that aren’t always easy to read.

For him, that’s part of the process, because early ideation tends to be messy and capturing ideas visually, even in a rough way, helps move things forward rather than leaving them as just conversation.

Do you find your best ideas come out in messy, visual form or do you lean toward more structured thinking from the start? ✏️🤔

We’re starting a new Inside Star series, where you’ll get to know our consultants and understand how Star works behind the scenes. Today we’re joined by Alexander Debkaliuk, Head of Design Ex*****on, in Part 1, starting with his path from linguistics and Western literature into design.

His journey into the industry began in linguistics and Western literature, alongside a growing curiosity for computers that eventually pulled him into building websites, coding, and design.

Along the way, he realised the real challenge isn’t just creating something, it’s understanding people, working together, and shaping the message behind what you build. Today, he works with teams to deliver solutions that are viable for the business and meaningful for end users, while navigating international teams and client collaboration.

She shares how sending one message to a mentor outside her department opened the door to new perspectives and growth and why mentorship is ultimately about people learning from each other’s journeys.

👉 Her advice is simple: if someone inspires you, send that message.

As part of this year’s International Women’s Day theme , our Crew members are sharing some of their expertise to give back. In our fourth video, our Program Manager, Nataliia Snitko, reflects on why participation at work is often shaped by environment rather than personality.

She speaks about how meetings that reward speed and confidence can unintentionally filter out thoughtful perspectives, particularly in mixed-seniority environments. When contribution depends on certainty rather than clarity of thinking, valuable insight is left on the table.

Instead, she highlights the importance of creating spaces where everyone can contribute, enabling stronger performance and better decisions for all.

As part of this year’s International Women’s Day theme , our Crew members are sharing some of their expertise to give back. In our second video, our Head of Quality & Regulatory Consulting, Antonina Burlachenko, reflects on the growing gap between innovation and regulation.

She speaks about how technology and compliance often move at different speeds, and why it is no longer enough to understand only one side. Compliance without technical insight becomes theoretical, while technology developed without regulatory awareness can create risks later and at greater cost.

Instead, she highlights the need for professionals who can bridge both worlds, translate between them, and enable smarter decisions and safer innovation.

As part of this year’s International Women’s Day theme , our Crew members are sharing some of their expertise to give back. To kick things off, Keren Joseph-Browning, our Chief People Officer, reflects on imposter syndrome and the power of an advisory mindset. She reminds us that we don’t need to match technical expertise to earn our seat at the table. Instead, we should focus on the end goal, define what success looks like, and contribute the perspective that many rooms are missing.
