I am spending the morning editing this little angel's first birthday session and I find myself thinking of the animals that have been a part of my life. The animals that have stolen my heart, brought me happiness, and have loved me just as much as I love them. One day this young man will think back with great love when he thinks of this childhood friend ... one has only to look at this photo of the two of them to know this to be true. ❤️❤️

I always ask clients to bring things that are special to their children to include in their first-year birthday portraits. It adds to the photos, personalizing them, and memorialize those childhood keepsakes. To my surprise, this time that meant this beautiful horse! I have to admit I was a bit nervous, but how could I resist the ideas that were immediately swirling around my head to show this special relationship of a boy and his horse? I couldn't ... and I am so very happy that I opened myself up to a new experience! Seriously, these images have my heart and fill me with joy! Tucked away in a field on the edge of town (literally) I met this sweeter-than-sweet family and knew immediately that capturing their family was going to be one of my favorite sessions ever! Thank you for blessing me with the opportunity to capture the things that make your whole family so very special!

I love capturing special occasions ... those moments in life that showcase the amazing power of love over time in two people's lives, and the blessings that result from that love. Take for example these two lovebirds ... at 50 years strong! I will share a sneak peek of their children and their families soon, but I wanted to shine the spotlight on them first. Two emotions kept coming to mind as I edited their photos ... joy and love. One has only to look at them to feel those emotions, and I am certain they have woven them together over the last 50 years in marvelous ways. Happy Anniversary ... I pray my husband and I are as full of joy and love as you two when we reach our 50th!

I have been quiet this year. I have a good reason, you see my daughter is getting married and I have been weaving her dream wedding into reality for the last year. WIth this season my time for photography has been severely limited, but I have made time for a few families that are simply part of my holiday traditions. I had to share this photo because it made my heart sentimental ... a beautiful mama and her two equally beautiful girls. I was too self-conscious to have photos done when my girls were little. Mamas don't worry what you think you look or don't look like! Make sure that you take every opportunity to capture your relationship with your children. Time has a sneaky way of slipping by ... and then you are planning a wedding! [I will be reopening my calendar in January ... and would love to help you document your family!]

It is an amazing blessing in capturing the promise that is found in a young life that is ready to step out of High School and enter their next chapter. TJ is an amazing young man, who I have no doubt will brighten the world. I had never done a shoot with a bike before ... and to be honest I was a little nervous. But, I decided to just roll with it, and I am so glad that I did. I think that these images capture his sweet spirit while paying homage to one of his favorite things ... exploring the city on his bike. Congratulations TJ ... the world is waiting for you to ride right into it!

The moment of this picture was absolutely the most love-filled moment. Every moment was filled a little voice proclaiming their love for one of their siblings ... there was no one left unloved ... and all voices were heard. Clearly, these sweet ones know love ... it is alive and well in their hearts and home.
