‼️ENHANCED RISK (LEVEL 3 OF 5) SEVERE WEATHER THREAT TODAY 🌪️ for Strong Tornadoes, Large to Very Large Hail 🧊, and Damaging Winds 💨 60–80+ mph
Numerous severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and tonight across the northern and central Plains, with the greatest concern across North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Iowa.
➡️ PRIMARY THREATS ARE;
🌪️ TORNADOES POSSIBLE (SOME STRONG): A few tornadoes are expected, some of which could be strong, especially across eastern North Dakota into northeastern South Dakota
🧊 LARGE TO VERY LARGE HAIL POSSIBLE
💨 DAMAGING WINDS POSSIBLE (60–80+ MPH): Multiple storm clusters and MCS development may produce widespread damaging winds with locally higher gusts

• Mid to Late Afternoon: Supercells develop across the Dakotas into Nebraska
• Afternoon – Evening: Tornado, hail, and damaging wind threat increases as storms intensify
• Evening – Night: Storms organize into larger clusters and MCS structures with damaging winds spreading east toward Minnesota and Iowa
• Overnight: Tornado and damaging wind potential may continue as storms shift eastward
