After much thought and reflection, I have made the decision to step down from my leadership role overseeing 7th Legacy's work on Enbridge-related projects.
Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of working alongside tribal leaders, elders, community members, stakeholders, and the Enbridge team to help create meaningful opportunities for dialogue, relationship building, and understanding. Together, we have facilitated Wisdom Circles, site visits, community discussions, cultural resource conversations, and countless individual engagements that have strengthened relationships and elevated Indigenous voices.
I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and grateful for every person who has contributed their time, knowledge, and trust throughout this journey.
As I transition out of this role, I am pleased to announce that Kristine Ptak will assume leadership responsibility for these projects on behalf of 7th Legacy. Kristine has been a driving force behind the organization's success and has helped build many of the relationships and programs that define the work today. Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to respectful engagement make her exceptionally qualified to lead the team moving forward.
I have complete confidence in Kristine. I know she will continue to serve tribal communities, project stakeholders, and clients with integrity, respect, and a commitment to meaningful engagement.
While my role is changing, my commitment to tribal sovereignty, relationship building, reconciliation, and creating spaces for productive conversations remains unchanged.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, challenged me, taught me, and walked alongside me throughout this chapter. The relationships and friendships built along the way will always be among the most meaningful parts of this work.
Please join me in congratulating and supporting Kristine as she leads 7th Legacy into its next chapter.
Miigwech.
