Washer leaking? Dryer taking multiple cycles to dry? This customer was dealing with both. 👨‍🔧

Another successful washer & dryer repair completed for a repeat customer!

The customer contacted us because their dryer was taking multiple cycles to fully dry clothing, while the front load washer was leaking and banging excessively during the spin cycle.

After scheduling them right away for a diagnostic appointment, we identified multiple issues between both appliances:

✔️ Washer door boot had a major tear nearly around the entire circumference, causing the leak
✔️ Washer tub dampeners were heavily worn and no longer properly stabilizing the drum during wash and spin cycles
✔️ Dryer heating element had failed, preventing the unit from heating correctly

We quickly sourced all required OE parts, provided the customer with an accurate quote, and received immediate approval to move forward with repairs.

Within 24 hours, all parts were retrieved and both appliances were fully repaired and back in operation. While these were time-consuming repairs, we worked through the logistics to get everything completed as quickly and efficiently as possible for the customer.

Not all appliance parts are meant to last forever… and that’s by design

Dryers have several “wear components” that are built to take the abuse so more expensive parts don’t have to. One of the most common we see are bearing slides. They’re small, inexpensive, and easy to overlook, but they play a big role in supporting the drum as it spins.

When those slides wear down, it can lead to metal-on-metal contact, loud scraping noises, and eventually damage to the drum, front bearing, or even the motor. What could have been a simple maintenance replacement can quickly turn into a much bigger repair.

Catching these early can save you money and extend the life of your dryer.

Duct tape can fix a lot of things… but an ice bin?

We recently helped a customer with a Kenmore (Whirlpool-built) refrigerator whose ice bin had seen better days. Multiple cracks had been “repaired” with duct tape over time, but let’s just say the tape finally waved the white flag and started peeling off.

Not only can cracked ice bins leak and make a mess, but they can also affect how your ice maker works overall. The good news is this was a quick and clean fix with a brand new replacement bin, and now it’s back to making and storing ice like it should.

This one was leaking pretty badly under the sink.

On a closer look, you can see the corrosion on the housing. Over time, moisture and food waste break these units down from the inside out.

Garbage disposals take a lot of abuse over the years, and eventually they start to fail.

Here are a few common issues we see:

• Leaks from worn out seals
• Rust and corrosion eating through the body
• Humming but not spinning
• Constant clogging or jamming
• Motor failure

Most disposals last around 8–12 years depending on use. If yours is around that age and you’re noticing water under the sink, loud noises, or performance issues, it’s a good idea to have it looked at before it causes cabinet damage.

We were recently out in Swansea, MA servicing a GE Profile double oven range.

The homeowner was experiencing an issue where the lower oven was taking a long time to reach temperature. To compensate, they had to set the temperature higher than needed, and there was occasionally a noticeable gas smell during initial ignition.

After diagnosing the issue, we found that the bake igniter in the lower oven was failing. On double oven ranges, this type of repair is more involved than a standard single oven, since the burner cavities are much tighter to accommodate two ovens in a smaller footprint.

The igniter needed for this repair has limited availability, but by working with multiple parts vendors, we were able to locate the correct part quickly and complete the repair.

The lower oven is now heating properly and operating safely.

Is your LG washer not draining properly or not completing a proper spin cycle? The drain pump could be the culprit. Have one of our certified and trained technicians properly diagnose and repair your LG washer today!

On this LG front load washer the customer was complaining that there was excess water in tub after every wash and that the clothes would still be saturated. Our technician responded promptly, quickly received a problem statement from the customer and got to working figuring out the problem.

During the diagnostics process our technician confirmed that the pump was receiving proper voltage from the control board but the pump was not functioning. Next, our technician searched for any blockages that might prevent the pump from spinning but nothing was found.

We stock common LG washer drain pumps in all our service vehicles including a variety of other commonly used parts. Our technician was able to replace the drain pump in just a short time and this customers washer was back in full working order.

After every repair our technicians perform a thorough post-repair test to confirm repairs are successful.
