IRS: Early filers who reported certain state tax refunds as taxable should consider filing amended returns

IR-2023-77, April 11, 2023 — The Internal Revenue Service said today that taxpayers who filed their federal income taxes early in this year’s filing season and reported certain state 2022 tax refunds as taxable income should consider filing an amended return.

I've heard several complaining about not receiving their Federal Refunds as quickly as years past. I just received this email publication....

COVID Tax Tip 2022-54, April 7, 2022 — The IRS issues most refunds in fewer than 21 days for taxpayers who file electronically and choose direct deposit. However, some returns have errors or need more review and may take longer to process.

IR-2021-113, May 17, 2021 — The Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced today that the first monthly payment of the expanded and newly-advanceable Child Tax Credit (CTC) from the American Rescue Plan will be made on July 15.

Very important outtake from this is the email address where employers can report their former employees who do not respond to a recall notice for a suitable offer of work : [email protected]
I'm sure you can also report other refused job offers there as well. Let's make them work or take their benefits! The FREE handouts need to stop!
