I began my career about 10 years ago when my family and I moved from Pennsylvania. My father-in-law had built his own highly successful sharpening career for the last 20 years, and knew all the road bumps, so he apprenticed me. After about 6 months of following him during his days, I struck out on my own, with his continued mentorship. One of the best days of my sharpening career was the day my fa
ther-in-law told me that he could not tell the difference between his sharpening and my own! Now, we continue our relationship as equals in the industry, and we help each other through new situations, new salons, etc. We confer frequently so that neither of us is treading on the other's ground, but we also pitch in for one another when one of us is not available. This business has taught me so much about the high value of my clients' trust, and honesty does sometimes hurt my income, but the long-range value in priceless. My desire is to honor the Lord in each sharpening of each scissor, as if He were standing beside me (which He is), watching every detail of what I am doing (which He is). I love how this business has given me drive, energy, competitiveness, and long-standing friendships. I look forward to being able to make my business the biggest and the best in the great state of Michigan!
