The passage of the 2026 Sweet Home School District Bond Measure 22-214 is imperative to provide a much Safer Sweet Home High School. We know that eventually those old buildings will have to be replaced, most likely after future inspections for Health and Safety result in condemnation. Current security at our high school is very low. There are way too many entrances that are not secure that expose classrooms and other spaces putting students and teachers at risk. If this bond fails there will be a time in the near future that we will be forced to replace these old structures at the High School. The longer we wait, the more costly the project will be.

Passing this bond measure now will bring in $12,252,000 from a State of Oregon grant, however we must pass this bond to qualify to receive the grant. Let’s not kick the can down the road. Let’s approve this bond.

The school district board of directors and district staff have done a great job maintaining the long term maintenance fund as well as implementing money saving refinancing of our current bond. Passing this new bond will maintain our current tax rates and bring in the state grant funding to get our schools up to par for a Safe and Healthy environment.

Cascade Timber Consulting, Inc., is the largest taxpayer in our school district. We fully support a YES VOTE for ballot measure 22-214

Back in the day

It’s Throwback Thursday and today we’re traveling back to the late 60’s when Hal Titus came to Sweet Home Oregon to haul logs for Willamette Industries. At that time Willamette Industries was logging and managing the land that is owned by the Hill family and currently managed by Cascade Timber Consulting, Inc. in this photo circa 1977 Titus had grown his fleet to more than 24 trucks. The Kenworth A model was the truck of choice for Titus at the time, powered by 350 Cummins motors and outfitted with Peerless logging gear. The Titus shop which has since been torn down, stood next to the railroad trestle and the Foster veneer plant. Titus eventually sold all of their assets to Wimer Logging who was also working for Willamette Industries at the time and had just moved their operations to Sweet Home from Lebanon.

Congrats Rick!

𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒: You may see smoke tomorrow outside of Sweet Home, Oregon near the Foster Reservoir. This is because ODF will be conducting a live fire exercise for the last day of the Mid-Willamette Valley Interagency Fire School.

These live fire exercises give our student firefighters the opportunity to practice what they've learned all week in a controlled environment.
