We're Playing a Little Catch-Up!

The past few weeks have been busy, so we're taking a moment to celebrate a couple of our recent Email Scavenger Hunt champions!

If you've been following along, you know the drill: each week, our Director of Prevention, Outreach, and Shelter Services, Rebecca, hides a secret code word in one of her emails. The first staff member to find it and text it back earns bragging rights...and a fun prize!

A big congratulations to Ann and Rue, who each claimed victory in different weeks by being the first to crack the code!

Ann took home a beautiful set of wind chimes from Ray's Florist.

Rue won a gift certificate to Bowl and Blender for a delicious treat.

The work we do at Center for Domestic Peace is meaningful, challenging, and often emotionally demanding. That's why we believe it's important to intentionally create moments of joy, celebrate one another, and foster a workplace where people feel appreciated. Sometimes, all it takes is a hidden code word to bring a smile to someone's day!

Congratulations again, Ann and Rue! One thing we've learned is that our staff has become very quick on the draw when Rebecca sends an email. She gets a kick out of watching everyone channel their inner "Quick Draw McGraw" as they race to find the hidden code word before anyone else!

We are excited to call a Friend Of The Festival thanks to their generous donation to the Blue Ridge Peace Fest! Carly and Cass is a local boutique established in 2016 by a mother-daughter duo of the same name. It all started due to their mutual love of crafting and now Carly and Cass is a fully-fledged retail business with an Etsy shop and two storefronts, one in Asheville Tanger Outlet Mall and one in downtown Sylva. On International Self-Care Day, we encourage survivors, advocates, caregivers, and community members to prioritize their emotional well-being and mental health.

Self-care is not selfish. It can look like:

🔸Accessing counseling or support groups
