September is Life Insurance Awareness Month!

Life insurance is one of those things we all know is important, but it can be easy to push off for another day.

We insure our cars, our homes, even our phones… but protecting our family and the income they depend on is just as important.

Life insurance can help with things like:
• Replacing lost income
• Paying off a mortgage or other debts
• Helping with future expenses for your kids
• Final expenses
• Leaving a financial cushion for the people you love

There’s also no one size fits all answer when it comes to coverage. What works for one family may look completely different for another, and that’s okay.
Throughout September, I’ll be sharing some helpful information about life insurance, common questions, and things to think about when deciding what type of coverage may make sense for you.
If it’s something you’ve been meaning to look into, I’m always happy to be a resource and help you understand your options. No pressure, just a conversation. 💙

Something we don’t always think about—what would happen if you couldn’t work for a few months?
Most of us rely on our paycheck to keep everything running. Mortgage or rent, groceries, car payments, childcare…the bills don’t stop just because you’re unable to work.
A lot of people assume FMLA will cover them, but FMLA is mainly there to protect your job, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll continue getting a paycheck. And even if your job offers disability benefits, they may only cover a portion of your income or for a certain amount of time.
That’s where having your own disability insurance can help. It can provide additional income protection if an illness or injury keeps you from working.
We insure our cars and our homes, but sometimes forget about the thing that pays for all of it, our income.
If you’ve never looked into what your job actually covers or whether you have a gap, I’m always happy to be a resource and go over it with you!

One of the best things you can do for your child or grandchild is help set them up for the future while they’re still young.

Whole life insurance for children can start as low as $15 a month. Life insurance is purchased based on age and health, so starting a policy while they’re young can help secure lifelong coverage at their current age, as long as premiums are paid.

Another great benefit is cash value While your child is growing, their policy is growing too. That cash value can become a resource for them later in life, maybe for a first car, college, wedding, first home, or other big milestone. Cash value can be pulled tax free at any time if needed.

Starting young also means they have coverage in place before we know what their health may look like in the future. It’s one way to give them a head start and begin building generational wealth that can carry into the next generation. ❤️

For as little as $15 a month you can start building something today that they can benefit from for years to come.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like to learn more about options for your child or grandchild!

Do you have an old 401(k) sitting with a previous employer?

It’s easy to change jobs, move on, and forget about an old retirement account. But that money is still part of your financial future, and it may be worth taking a closer look at what it’s doing for you.

A question I hear often from people approaching retirement or already retired is: “Why would I roll over my 401(k)?”

One reason to explore your options is simple: just because your workplace is no longer contributing doesn’t mean your money has to stop working toward your goals.
Depending on your situation, a rollover may give you access to different investment and retirement-income options, help you consolidate old accounts, and make your retirement savings easier to manage.
We offer a variety of options, because retirement planning isn’t one-size-fits-all. A rollover isn’t automatically the right choice for everyone, but it’s worth understanding the choices available to you.

🔎 Have an old 401(k) you haven’t looked at in years?
📈 Getting close to retirement and wondering what comes next?
💼 Have accounts from multiple previous employers?

It might be a good time to find those old accounts, review your options, and see whether your money could be working more effectively toward the retirement you want.

Have questions about your options? Send me a message and let’s talk.

Worth Knowing Wednesday 💡
“I have benefits and a retirement plan through work, so I’m all set.” That’s a great start! But have you ever really looked at whether what you have lines up with the future you want for yourself and your family? Planning for the future is about more than just putting money away. It’s knowing what you’re working toward, understanding what you already have in place, and making sure it still makes sense for your goals. Remember, what you have through work doesn’t have to be your only option. There may be additional coverage and planning options available to help fill in the gaps. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Sometimes just knowing where you stand is the best place to start.
Your future is worth planning for.

Myth Monday 💭
“I’m young and healthy… I don’t need life insurance yet.”

I hear this one all the time. What a lot of people don’t realize is that life insurance is based on your age and health. So being young and healthy isn’t necessarily a reason to wait, it can actually be a good time to learn about your options. You may not feel like you need it right now, but life changes. Careers change, families grow, homes get purchased, and responsibilities grow with them. Sometimes it’s better to learn about your options before you actually need them.

Just a little Monday thought 😊

Most people don't think about financial planning until something in life changes.

If it's been a while since you've looked at your financial plan, let's have a conversation. No pressure, just a chance to see if your current plan still matches where life has taken you.
