Roberts Street Middle School’s renovated cafeteria was redesigned to support the district’s evolving grade configuration while creating a bright, flexible space for students and the community. The full gut renovation relocated the kitchen, improved circulation, and transformed two separate cafeterias into one cohesive environment featuring vibrant finishes, flexible seating, acoustic treatments, and adaptable gathering spaces. As the first completed project of the district’s 2024 Capital Improvement Project, the new cafeteria creates an engaging space designed for both everyday student life and after-school events.

As part of the CNS High School Capital Improvement Project, the gymnasium underwent a comprehensive renovation to modernize this high-use space. Improvements include new athletic wood flooring, safety padding, basketball backstops, bleachers, fresh paint, a new press box, and updated audiovisual equipment. These upgrades enhance functionality, safety, and flexibility for a wide range of athletic activities and events—creating an environment that better supports student-athletes, school programs, and the spectator experience.

Baldwinsville CSD’s 2022 Capital Improvement Project focused on expanding and modernizing the special programing at Durgee Junior High School. FACS was one of the first spaces to be renovated, being relocated adjacent to the new kitchen & cafeteria for expanded learning opportunities and shared resources.

The CNS High School Capital Improvement Project included a complete renovation of the auditorium, transforming it into a modern performing arts space. A new fly tower was constructed to accommodate advanced stage rigging, lighting, and theatrical set functionality. The interior was reimagined with new seating, flooring, acoustical wall treatments, and custom illuminated “starry” accent panels that celebrate the district’s Northstars identity. State-of-the-art theatrical lighting and audiovisual systems now elevate the auditorium’s capabilities for performances, assemblies, and community events.

Shown here is the new broadcast journalism space within the addition at Fayetteville-Manlius CSD High School, part of the $52 million, 2021 Capital Improvement Project. The project eliminated the former multi-level bridge connection and unified the building with a central addition. The broadcast journalism suite supports student-led news production and instruction, with a dedicated classroom, newsroom desk studio for recording, and an adjacent control room.

The new gymnasium at Baldwinsville’s Durgee Junior High School was relocated into the north courtyard to allow for full-sized play courts and expanded spectator seating. The larger gym provides courts for competition play and practice as well as seating and gathering space for the entire school population. The upper perimeter of the volume is wrapped in translucent panels to bring in diffused light, giving the space a bright, open feel.

The recently completed St. Matthew's Condos in East Syracuse represent adaptive reuse of a historic-eligible elementary school. As the developer, Redev CNY’s project goals included creation of 21 condominiums, which were designed to meet New York State’s Affordable Homeownership Opportunity Program. The condos and common spaces were designed to be warm and inviting, while referencing mid-century modern original elements and maintaining exterior views and abundant natural light. Redev Construction, a sister company to the developer, was the General Contractor.
