NEWS has a membership of over 450 school districts, community organizations, and education associations for not following its constitutional paramount duty of fully funding education with ample, stable, and reliable sources. NEWS won the lawsuit in the State of Washington in King County S

uperior Court June 2009 - the court agreed the state was not complying with the state constitution. The State of Washington appealed in the Supreme Court of Washington and NEWS won again – with a historic twist – the Court has “Retained Jurisdiction” through 2018 to monitor the Legislature as it works towards its own statutory plan of fully funding education.
• Washington Learning First Alliance
LFA is an alliance of all education stakeholders in our state. They meet monthly to discuss issues of common concern around education policy and funding. Nonprofit consulting includes strategic planning, leadership development, and more. Clients have included education foundations, health/human service organizations, and more.
