Purpose of establishing the International Criminal Investigation Bureau
In the global era, various changes and complex phenomena will accelerate in the areas of business and private activity, and international exchange and trade will expand through FTAs (Free Trade Agreements) that are concluded competitively for mutual benefit. Therefore, we were paying attention to the need to respond to various international legal lawsuits and civil complaints.
It is not uncommon for problems between individuals and businesses to grow into national as well as international issues. The Bureau was established to prevent or minimize loss and suffering resulting from problems that may arise between individuals and businesses, and to respond to unpleasant situations that may escalate into cross-border issues.
We receive requests for cases from companies and individual victims operating in the U.S. and Canada who are facing difficulties due to economic crimes, international disputes, various frauds, confidential leaks, and embezzlement issues who flee to the U.S. and Canada after committing various crimes in Korea and other countries. We handle cases through joint investigation with Raven civilian investigative agents from the Investigation Bureau.
In addition, we directly visit Korean prisoners in poor conditions, which are rapidly increasing in the United States, and act as counselors to console them about disadvantages that may arise due to language and cultural differences and provide comfort for unfair treatment and correctional authorities. By representing and protecting the human rights and interests of prisoners in cases of illegal treatment by prisoners or other prisoners, we minimize the various mental and physical pains that may occur during incarceration to the extent permitted by law, thereby reducing the loneliness and difficulties they face in correctional facilities in other countries. We aim to help them regain hope in life by encouraging and supporting them to safely endure and be released from prison.

글로벌시대에 있어 기업과 민간인의 활동영역의 다양한 변화와 복잡한 현상은 가속화 될수밖에 없으며, 국가와 국가의 상호 이익을 위하여 경쟁적으로 체결되는 FTA(자유무역협정)로 국제교류 및 교역이 확되되어 발생하는 각종국제적인 법률사건과 민원에 따라 대책의 필요성에 대하여 주목하고 있었습니다. 개인간 및 기업간의 문제가 국가적인 문제는 물론 국제적인 문제로 야기되는 현상도 비일비재합니다. 개인과 기업에서 발생할수있는 문제로 인한 손실과 고통을 예방하거나 최소화하고, 국가간의 문제로 확대될수 있는 불미스러운 상황에 대처하기 위하여 본 수사국을 설립하게 되었습니다. 특히, 한국 등지에서 각종 범죄행위 후 미국 캐나다 등지로 도피하는 경제사범, 국제분쟁, 각종사기, 기밀유출 및 횡령문제로 난관에 처한 미국과 캐나다 진출 기업체 및 개인 피해자들로부터 사건을 의뢰받아 미국내 본 수사국 레이븐 민간 수사요원들과의 공조수사를 진행하여 사건을 처리합니다. 또한, 미국내에서 급증하고 있는 열악한 처지의 한인교포 수감자들을 방문하여 언어와 문화의 차이로 인하여 발생할수있는 불이익에 대하여 카운셀러가되어 위로함과 동시에 교정당국이나 타 수감자들로부터 그 어떤부당하고 불법적인 대우를 받지않도록 교포수감자들의 인권과 권익을 대변하고 보호함으로써 수감생활중 발생할수있는 여러유형의 정신적, 육체적 고통을 법률이 허용하는 범위내에서 최소화시켜 타국의 교정기관에서의 외로움과 난관을 무사히 견디어 내고 출감할수 있도록 격력하고 응원하여 삶의 희망을 되찿게 할 역활을 목표로 합니다
