From today's Nonprofit Times...

The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and Arizona Grantmakers Forum have merged to form a nearly 1,100-member collaborative entity — believed to be only the fourth such formal merger of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations in the U.S.

This is hopefully the wave of the future!

NATIONAL CONFERENCE PRESENTERS SOUGHT!
We invite you to submit a proposal for a session at the Alliance for Nonprofit Management conference to be held in a combined regional and virtual format on Thursday-Friday, October 27-28 and only virtually on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

The Alliance is the national voice and catalyst for the field of nonprofit capacity building. Our mission is to expand and diversify the field of capacity building and build a movement that centers equity and inclusion in nonprofits and communities to help them achieve social change.

We are seeking proposals that address our conference theme:

Disruption + Transformation: Creating new futures for nonprofit capacity building
We have lived in disruption over the last few years. This is an opportunity to continue that disruption in a hopeful way and create new futures in nonprofit capacity building.
Our desired futures include:
◦ Anti-racist, anti-oppressive framing of our work.
◦ A more diverse and inclusive field of consultants and capacity builders.
◦ Rethinking traditional power structures.
◦ Centering people and mission as “work” changes.
◦ Finding your why as a capacity builder.
◦ Balancing life and practice development.

This will be our first conference delivered in a federated format– virtual delivery of top-quality national content that is also accessible through regional, in-person gatherings. Our previous two all-virtual conferences each attracted more than 175 participants. We are seeking proposals for sessions, skill-building intensives, and plenary sessions. Definitions, number of each, and honoraria for each type are noted below.

Keeping with our conference theme, we are very interested in receiving proposals from presenters with a diversity of demographics are especially encouraged to submit proposals. The deadline for submission is June 3, 2022.

Thank you for your interest. Please click here for more information and to submit a proposal.

Do you hold large nonprofit events in the Tacoma/Pierce County area? Do you want to know what else is being planned? Have you ever set a date for your event and then discovered that another similar event had already been scheduled for the same date?

If you answered yes to some or all of these questions, you're invited to submit your event information to be listed in the free event calendar which is available to anyone who needs/wants it.

It's easy. Just message me with your email, and we'll take it from there. Rest easy. I never share anyone's email without specific permission.

By the way, events are being listed for as far into the future as next fall. You might want to claim your date now.

The South Sound Event Planners' Calendar is available. PM your email and I'll send it to you.

Some of you know that I have produced an Event Planners' Calendar off and on over the years. I am working on it now and invite you to send me your MAJOR event information for the coming 12 months. The emphasis on MAJOR is important. This calendar is not a place to promote your event. It is simply a tool for planners to avoid planning their event on the same date as another major event that will draw the same guests.
All I need is the event date and name, your organization name and whether it is to be in-person or virtual.

You can send a PM to me with your information or with your email address so I can contact you.

A wise man, Dave Brown, has written in part: Our “national day of giving thanks is important and exactly what we need. Being grateful and saying thank you, is not just good manners or a simple courtesy. Giving thanks is, at its core, a radical act. It is a declaration of interdependence! Giving thanks is implicitly affirming that I can’t do everything myself and need others. Saying thank you is one way we affirm that we are not rugged individuals but part of a luminous web of life. We can’t do life alone; we can’t do it by ourselves. And on this one day of the year across the country we stop and recognize that and give thanks.” I am thankful for all who give so much to our communities. We are, indeed, interdependent.
