Junk journaling combines journaling, collage, doodling, and whatever other medium you’d like to adhere in a journal for a brilliant hodgepodge of free self-expression. In combination with my ugly art coaching, this becomes a place to feel deeply into your creative intuition and practice creating a mess in a safe space where your nervous system can start to learn that your art practice doesn’t need to be perfect all the time—or at all for that matter!

Leah and I are hosting a monthly Artist Roundtable at the Mothership (aka the Tacoma Night Market) near South Tacoma Way for the new First Friday community event!

Where: 5407 S Washington Street

When: Friday, February 6, 2026 6-9pm

What: This will be a monthly event for artists to gather, make art, discuss projects, and offer support to one another. This first roundtable will offer a space to discuss our needs as an artist community and to make some playful art together. Drop in as you’re able!

How we want to show up together in community will inform how future roundtables will go. Do we want to have monthly artist dance parties? Monthly artist brainstorm? Monthly artist naptime? We want to know what will fill your cup so that Tacoma artists can keep doing their thing during hard times.

We hope to see you there!
