Sometimes, a traditional raceway just doesn’t cut it. For the Kashi Building, we opted for an oversized raceway design, and the results speak for themselves.
While standard channel letters have their place, "going big" with the backer is often the smarter move. Here is why we utilize oversized raceways:
Difficult Mounting: When the building façade offers limited attachment points or complex substrates, a larger structural backer provides the stability needed for a secure, clean install.
Complex Graphics: If a logo has intricate details that are difficult (or expensive) to fabricate as individual channel letters, we can use routing and push-thru acrylic. It’s often more cost-effective while maintaining a premium, high-end look.
Intentional Design: Sometimes, the backer isn’t just a mounting tool—it’s a decorative element. An oversized raceway adds "visual weight" and contrast, helping the brand pop against the architecture.
Fabricators and Designers: Do you prefer the minimalist look of individual letters, or do you like the "canvas" an oversized backer provides?
