It's been a while since we have checked in with our social community here.

Life is a lot right now. We’re raising our twins, working multiple jobs, and trying to build Grit City Restoration from the ground up at the same time. Some days feel like we’re just trying to keep our heads above water.

We didn’t start this with money or experience owning a business. Just a decision that we wanted more for our family, and that we wanted to build something honest, something that actually helps people.

We’re learning as we go, and that means sometimes… we mess up.

Recently, we put together a bid where both of us felt like something wasn’t adding up, but we were moving so fast we couldn’t see where the mistake was. When it got brought up, we went back through it, found the error, and corrected it. And honestly, we’re thankful it was caught.

We didn’t get the job, and that part is okay.

What sits heavy is knowing it probably looked like we were trying to overcharge someone or take advantage of the situation. That’s not who we are at all. It was a mistake, and it was a reminder for us to slow down, even when everything around us feels rushed, and we’re running what feels like a million different tasks at times.

The truth is, part of why we started this company is because we’ve seen things in this industry that didn’t sit right. The kind of stuff that makes you shake your head. People getting taken advantage of, work not being done the way it should be.

We don’t want to be that.

We want to be the company that people can trust. The one that treats every home, and every person, with real respect. The way we’d treat our own family. The way we’d treat our elders.

We care about what we’re building. Especially when it comes to helping make homes safer in our tribal communities. That means something to us on a deeper level.

This isn’t easy. We’re still figuring a lot out behind the scenes. But we’re showing up every day, learning from the mistakes, and pushing forward.

We believe in where this is going, even on the hard days.

And we’re grateful, seriously, soooo grateful, for everyone who has supported us, trusted us, and continues to rock with us while we grow.

We’re not perfect. But we’re real, and we’re trying to build something that actually matters.
