You may not need a full-time CFO, but that doesn't mean your organization doesn't need CFO-level financial leadership. A Fractional CFO provides strategic financial guidance on a flexible basis. That can include cash flow planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, growth strategy, and helping leadership make more informed decisions. Think of it as having experienced financial leadership available when you need it, without adding another full-time executive salary to the payroll.

Most of the time, we're not brought in at the beginning of something. we're brought in when something isn't moving the way it should.

It usually sounds like:
🔹 "I have the data, but we can't align on what to do with it."
🔹 "This initiative has been sitting for months."
🔹 "Everyone is busy, but progress feels unclear."
🔹 "We've had multiple conversations, but no real decisions."

These aren't failures. They're signals that something underneath needs structure.

That's typically where we come in, not to add more analysis, but to help create clarity, ownership, and forward movement. ♾️

Helping organizations improve starts with our own commitment to continuous learning.

We're proud to share that our CEO, Leigh Anne Payne, PMP, LSSBB, has been selected to participate in the Sterling Leadership Fellows Program, offered by The Sterling Council. The program brings together leaders committed to strengthening their leadership capabilities, expanding their understanding of performance excellence, and creating meaningful, sustainable results within their organizations.

For Leigh Anne, this is more than professional development. It reflects the principles that guide Adapteon's work every day: thoughtful leadership, management by fact, continuous improvement, and turning sound strategy into practical results.

We're excited to learn alongside other leaders and performance excellence professionals, and to bring those insights back to the government agencies, organizations, and communities we serve. ♾️

Not every engagement needs to be large to be valuable.

In one case, a team was struggling to move forward on a decision that had been circulating for months. The issue wasn't lack of effort. It was lack of structure.

We worked through:
✅ what decision actually needed to be made
✅ who needed to make it
✅ what information mattered (and what didn't)

Within a short period of time, the team moved forward with clarity and alignment.

Sometimes progress doesn't require more work. It requires a clearer path. ♾️

Still trying to squeeze bookkeeping in between running your business? You're not alone.

QuickBooks is a powerful tool, but only when it's accurate, organized, and up to date. If you're spending more time sorting transactions than serving customers, it may be time for some support.

We provide QuickBooks services that help small business owners stay organized, understand their numbers, and get back to focusing on what they do best. You don't have to do it all yourself.

If something important in your organization isn't moving, it's usually not because people don't care.
It's usually because one of three things is unclear:

What decision needs to be made
Who owns it
What happens next

Once those are clear, progress tends to follow. Until then, even strong teams can feel stuck.
That's often where an outside perspective makes a difference -- not by adding complexity, but by bringing structure to what's already there.
If your team is spinning on something that should be moving, sometimes a fresh set of eyes is all it takes. What's one area where clarity would make the biggest difference for your organization right now?

One question I ask often: "Is this actually executable?"
Not "Is it a good idea?" Not "Does the data support it?"
But: Can this realistically be carried out?

In my experience, ex*****on breaks down when three things are missing:
Clear ownership -- If everyone is involved, no one is accountable.
Defined sequencing -- If everything is a priority, nothing moves.
Operational reality -- If the recommendation doesn't match how the organization actually functions, it won't stick.
Ex*****on isn't about effort. It's about structure.

Which one of these tends to be the biggest gap in your organization? We'd love to hear where teams get stuck most.
