We interrupt your Easter weekend for an important update on tall mass timber! SB 712, which includes the provision that would include tall mass timber in the Florida Building Code, will be heard in the Senate Rules Committee on Monday, April 21, at 2 PM EDT.
Including tall mass timber in the building code is not just a win for Florida forestry. It's a win for everyone who cares about our state's environment!
Why, you ask?
Thank you for that very good question! Including tall mass timber in the building code would provide a new market for landowners, giving them the ability to keep their forests growing. Because good stewardship costs money, strong markets are key to sustainability.
