We are excited to announce that MSNBC interviewed our CEO/Vice President Joe Myers on Wednesday, October 9th!

Joe is one of our principal leaders within DSI (Disasters, Strategies & Ideas), a subsidiary of THF. He is also the former Director of the Division of Emergency Management for North Carolina and Florida. It is very rare for anyone to have served that role in two different states. He was born and raised in Western North Carolina and his history with emergency management, particularly in the mountain areas, makes him an expert on the damage and restoration process following the devastating flooding in North Carolina caused by Hurricane Helene.

DSI has established strong partnerships with Florida Counties and Municipalities as federal funding was made available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Since 2021, our team has worked in these communities to restore and improve them. Our DSI Manager Ericka McKibbin was on the ground in Dixie County helping to monitor stormwater work to prevent future flooding.

Our government consultants Andrea Jones and Ericka McKibbin were selected as 2022 KCCI Community Catalysts! The current class makes a commitment to educate, engage, and enable fellow citizens to build a more authentic, sustainable, and prosperous community. This year’s project is Wander in Wonder which will merge art and adventure by establishing a plan to install permanent art exhibits somewhere along Tallahassee’s 850-plus miles of trails.
