I know we hear this a lot, but time is really the most precious asset we all have. Money comes and goes, but time – we can never turn the clock back and get more of it. But for us entrepreneurs, time is literally money. 💸

Something I learned from my time as a children’s party planner is that poor organization will grind productivity to a halt. Keeping yourself organized is crucial for productivity because without it, your effectiveness, your motivation, and eventually, your well-being suffer.

So in order to avoid total overwhelm and burnout, I like to use my time as efficiently as possible and staying organized helps me make the most of my 24 hours!

Wanna know how I set myself up for success each day?

Don't worry – there's no "easy 9-step morning routine" happening over here! I don't believe in complication, but I do believe in setting the tone for my day with certain habits. My morning routine has definitely evolved over years but it basically breaks down into these 4 simple things that I currently do each morning and one I do the night before.

THE NIGHT BEFORE: I plan tomorrow. This means spending about 10-15 minutes before I shut down for the day to write in my planner what I have on the agenda for the following day.

STEP 1 : Coffee - First we drink the coffee then we do the things!

STEP 2: Mindfulness - For me this means reading my daily devotional, praying and journaling.

STEP 3: Movement - Typically this is some kind of workout or a walk.

STEP 4: Mastery - This is when I take the time to work on something for myself that I typically would skip to make time for something else. It can be related to my biz (like taking a course or learning some new tech) or something more personal (like learning a second language or reading a personal development book. Anything that I normally wouldn’t make time for.

And that’s it! That’s my morning routine! I don’t get up crazy early, but I still make it a point to start the day on my terms and I feel like I have accomplished something even before my workday begins which improves my mood and sets me up for success!

Who else loves Monday’s? It’s like a fresh start every week! 🙋🏼‍♀️⁣

I like to set myself up for success by taking some time on Sundays to look over my calendar for the upcoming week. I set reminders for appointments and phone calls and set aside time for myself each day.⁣
⁣
This gives me the opportunity to make sure that I haven’t overbooked or stretched myself too thin. You can go after what you want in life and get your hustle on without burning yourself out.⁣
⁣
Of course life doesn’t always go as planned and things pop up that require my immediate attention and focus BUT, by giving myself some grace and some wiggle room in my schedule I am prepared for the curve balls.⁣

Ok don’t come for me if follow loops are your thing! I totally respect ✊🏻 everyone’s right to do their business their way! After all isn’t that why we became entrepreneurs? So we could do things our way and not have to answer to anyone but ourselves?⁣

But hear👂🏻 me out one this one before you decide to participate in your first or your next follow loop.⁣
⁣
If you’re not familiar with what I’m talking about a follow loop is a group of participants who post a specified image with a predetermined caption, for the sole purpose of gaining followers. There’s normally a set of rules assigned to the loop by the person who created it. For example, you must follow the admins of the loop before participating, or you must post at the exact time provided. Regardless of what the rules are,normally a set of rules assigned.⁣
⁣
Unlike a follow for follow where you follow someone and they follow back.⁣
Follow loops are a bit different. You post a photo on your Instagram, pre-assigned by the admins, who, as I mentioned earlier you generally have to follow in order to participate. The picture posted by everyone in the loop is usually the same and only displayed for a specific period of time. Along with the photo, you post a predetermined caption and hashtag(s). Once the photo is posted, everyone must follow those who posted the picture and caption. You leave an assigned emoji in the comments of the photo to let them know you’ve followed. ⁣

Joining sounds simple. You may be thinking “what’s the big deal? It’s not like it can hurt my business.” And to a certain extent, yes, I agree with you. Yes, but here’s a few reasons why I personally avoid them.⁣

Lately as I’ve started to gain more followers and have started following more accounts myself, I’ve noticed people using hashtags in their bios. ⁣
⁣
Being my naturally curious self I decided to do a little research to see what if anything I was missing out on. FOMO is real people! ⁣
⁣
So here’s the 4️⃣1️⃣1️⃣⁣
⁣
If you include generic hashtags in your bio you risk sending your followers to loads of content that has been posted by your competitors. Now I’m a firm believer in community over competition but you do want your followers engaging with YOUR content. They did click on your profile after all. Let’s keep them for a few minutes. ⁣
⁣
For example let’s say you’re a life coach so you use in your bio. A visitor to your profile clicks on that hashtag and is immediately taken to the explore page which is full of beautiful content posted by other life coaches. See where I’m going with this?? 🤔⁣
⁣
They start scrolling through all those thousands of posts and before they know it they’ve gone down a rabbit hole 🕳 and totally forgotten where they started in the first place. ⁣
⁣
Branded hashtags that you use specifically for your biz are perfect to use in your bio or hashtags that have a very low number of posts (under 100) this way your visitor is still likely to see many of your posts. ⁣
⁣
IMO keep the hashtaging for the caption or the comments! I mean why waste valuable real estate in your bio listing hashtags that are likely to drive traffic away from your content and not to it.⁣

How do you know if the content you’re putting out on your Instagram stories is resonating with your audience?🤔⁣

Are you analyzing the stats? 📈⁣

Because they are a great indicator of what your audience engages with and what they don’t.⁣

Let’s define all the IG story terminology so you can start stepping up your stories game 𝙏𝙊𝘿𝘼𝙔!⁣

𝙏𝙖𝙥 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠: This is the number of times viewers tap back to go to a previous story. There are several reasons for a viewer to tap back, maybe they missed something and wanted to watch it again. Maybe there was a lot of text and they had to rewatch it to read the entire thing. 👉🏻 If you have a large number of tap backs take a look at the amount of text you have in the story. You may want to consider scaling it back.⁣
⁣
𝙏𝙖𝙥 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙: This is the number of times viewers tap forward to move onto the next story. I higher number here is likely a good indication that the story just wasn’t resonating with your audience or it was simply too long.⁣
⁣
𝙀𝙭𝙞𝙩𝙨: The number of times viewers exited out of story mode. You want to make sure that your viewers are making it all the way through your stories. If they aren’t it’s probably time to rethink your content.⁣
⁣
Reviewing your IG story stats is a great way to find out what topics your audience enjoys.⁣
