With a unique journey of resilience, transformation, and impact, Lance brings a wealth of experience in public policy, grassroots engagement, and innovative problem-solving.
Lance has been a resident of Southwest Florida since 2003 and is the founder of Lightmark Aerial, a pioneering drone technology company that has implemented innovative solutions in industries ranging from Emergency Operations to mosquito control. His entrepreneurial spirit and forward-thinking approach have helped advance practical, technology-driven solutions across the country.
Lance’s advocacy career includes serving as Political Coordinator for the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC), where he played a vital role in passing Amendment 4, a landmark initiative that restored voting rights to returning citizens in Florida. His work in Tallahassee during the legislative session was instrumental in the amendment's implementation.
Most recently, Lance was Grassroots Engagement Director for Americans for Prosperity, where he built citizen advocacy and engagement on critical issues and campaigns in the Tampa Bay region. His work in this role further honed his ability to unite communities and drive policy outcomes.
Lance’s personal story is one of transformation and inspiration. After a life-altering decision led to a five-year incarceration, Lance chose to rise above the criminal justice system and become a force for positive change. While incarcerated, he worked to empower others, helping to establish programs like SCORE and Toastmasters International to teach business planning and public speaking. He was part of a team that earned a silver medal in an international culinary competition and consistently sought ways to foster growth and engagement among his peers.
Lance has held leadership roles in numerous organizations, including serving as Government Relations Chair for the Southwest Florida American Advertising Federation, Vice President of Public Relations for Ft. Myers Toastmasters, and Co-Chair of the Lee County Liberty Caucus. His experiences continue to shape his commitment to driving meaningful change and advancing the causes of those he serves.

John’s public service record includes being appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to the Hernando County Housing Commission, as well as serving on the Hernando County Planning and Zoning Commission. His strong involvement in the political sphere is further evidenced by his role as the National Membership Chair for the Republican Liberty Caucus, where he has contributed significantly to the growth and influence of the organization.

As an Army Veteran who served as a Military Police Officer, John’s deep ties to the law enforcement community are reflected in his strong affiliation with the Florida Police Benevolent Association. His advocacy extends into various criminal justice and corrections system reforms, where he has been actively involved in grassroots efforts to bring about meaningful change.

In addition to his work in public service and political campaigns, John has been dedicated to empowering future political leaders. In Sterling Hills, the CDD oversees these facilities and controls the about $2,000,000.00 budget for maintenance and improvements. Residents directly elect the Board of Supervisors, giving you a voice in managing these resources.
