Opportunity to Serve!!
Meals on Wheels Tampa provides hundreds of meals a month to seniors and homebound residents in our area! By teaming up with Thrivent, we're excited to be able to participate in providing funds for purchasing food and related supplies to assist in their mission. All funds will be provided to them by August 29th and we'll be able to assist in delivering meals as well. MOW Tampa does not accept government funding but relies on the community for support. Good article on a very difficult ongoing issue with Social Security! Denials based upon 1977 job descriptions...changes are needed desperately! We fight for our clients using the latest strategies and methods in attempts to combat this problem.

Despite spending at least $250 million to modernize its system, Social Security still relies on 45-year-old job titles to deny thousands of disability claims.

Good article explaining the current backlog with SS claims in the early stages of processing. Something must be done! So many are homeless or close to it due to these delays.

Social Security's state offices that review disability claims are at a breaking point with massive backlogs, leaving disabled Americans waiting months for judgments.
