🚨 HAVE A CHARGE-OFF ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT? PAY ATTENTION TO HOW IT’S REPORTING!
When a charged-off debt is sold or transferred to a third-party debt buyer, this is where you want to take a closer look at your credit reports. 🔍
Check your credit reports for:
🔹 Who currently owns the debt?
🔹 Is the creditor still reporting a balance?
🔹 Does it show remarks like sold or transferred?
🔹 Is a third-party debt buyer also reporting the account?
🔹 Are the balances, dates and account details accurate across all 3 bureaus?
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), consumers have the right to dispute information they believe is inaccurate or incomplete.
💡 The key to successful disputing is knowing WHAT to look for. Stop sending generic disputes and start identifying the actual discrepancies in your reporting.
