Squats from today
So far it’s been 8 weeks since my last powerlifting meet, right now I’m feeling pretty good sitting at 200 pounds, getting good recovery between the shifts at the store and the training required for the sport
Honestly I thought 385 was a nice top single not too bad, tried something different and used lighter sleeves for my sets up to 80% then went with my inzers for my heavier sets,
I completed 5 doubles, in our sport that means 5 sets of 2 repetitions, the most important thing with these sets and the way they are programmed is paying attention to details and looking at your body’s overall positioning and lifting mechanics. I jumped to 385 for a top single, sometimes u have to adjust, I didn’t have much time after this set because I had to go home and get ready for work, so I put in some secondary movements for next week to continue building towards a meet preparation for later this year. Squats for me are a more taxing lift then bench, deadlifts and bench I can run through, squats I take my time. As a lifter in training you control the pace and overall listening to your body.
I programmed 385 for a single and I did my job. Overall good squat session, definitely sleep in a little tomorrow for deadlifts. I’m conditioned for closing shifts so my normal bed time is between 1 and 3 am. Nothing to glorify just is what it is. As long as you get it done ✅. Alright guys thanks for supporting

I look like a got ran over by a bus or just got out of a hell in a cell match with the Undertaker
Going to war with those weights on the platform, training for war in the gym, i wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Meet day high is like no other adrenaline rush, im grateful for those who pushed me to be better and for the powerlifting/ strength community for accepting me. Some of my best friends I’ve met through this sport and that’s my biggest win through it all. Thank you to the community, you guys are awesome.

For the record, Chad Pennington was the last true jets franchise quarterback
Only problem was he played in the era of Brady and manning
If it wasn’t for that I think we could’ve been good especially with the supporting cast of Curtis Martin at running back and Santana moss, Wayne Cherbet and Laveranues Coles as the receiving core
We were good, just needed to be in a different era.

545x2 deadlift
600x1 deadlift
First 600 pull since the meet
565 was my targeted single ( set of 1) for this deadlift/back and arms workout which is 90% of my projected training max of 635, 545 flew like 315 so I thought, what the he’ll throw on 600 and hit that s**t, it wasn’t my normal speed off the floor, had to grind it out and ended up getting it. I will put 635 in my hands before my next meet. It’s an achievable weight.
I followed up with deadlifts with sn**ch grip deadlifts 3x4 ( 3 sets of 4)
Pull-ups 3x8 to open up the shoulders and lats and build overall width ( learned that from Arnold Schwarzenegger by watching his training videos)
Dumbbell Romanian deadlifts from ham and glute strength and muscle mass
Wide seated rows for thicker lats
Underhand grip Tricep pushdowns 3x12
Seated dumbbell curls 3x8 with 2 arms
Overall solid lift.

475 and 505 for 6 on deadlifts
Training for a top double ( set of 2) and a top single ( set of 1) of 635 in training
During prep for battle of the bay 11 I peaked my dead to a top double of 585 and a top single of 625. In time the new numbers will come just by doing the work.
