Thank you to Tampa International Airport for the incredible tour! The tour began with a presentation from Chief Commercial Officer Chris Minner on management, TPA, and more. We explored the baggage and security system, learned about the firefighter team that serves TPA, and concluded with an airfield tour. A very exciting and educational opportunity, thank you again TPA! ✈️

Great meeting with City Manager Ryan Leavengood of Lake Afred. He provided us with tremendous insight and wisdom, including guidelines on how to achieve our career goals and what it means to be a leader who oversees the community. Thank you to everyone who attended. Our next meeting will be on March 14, 2025, with guest speaker Joanna Cheshire of Pasco County.

Yesterday was "National I Am a Mentor Day". Although a day late, we are always ready to celebrate the mentorship provided by our Chapter Advisor Dr. John Daly and Chapter Mentor Mr. Jeff Tillman. Thank you for everything you do! For January, we will be celebrating with ICMA - International City/County Management Association over the course of National Mentoring Month!

Thank you to the City of Temple Terrace for a wonderful Government Day program.

Students filled the roles of Mayor, Council Member, City Manager, City Attorney, or Department Director for a day and were partnered with their respective City of Temple Terrace counterparts to solve a real-world city issue. One of the highlights involved student presentations of their proposed solutions during a mock City Council meeting. Government Day’s networking opportunities, real-world experience, and educational benefits are essential to our professional development.

Thank you again to the City of Temple Terrace for welcoming the next generation of career professionals in Government Day.

Our first meeting of the Fall Semester was a great success! We started off with speed networking. Then Mr. Bobby Green gave an excellent presentation about local government, leadership, and defining the road map that will take you to your goals and honing your capabilities.

We also honored past Student Chapter President Nicholas Odame with a plaque for his service!

Thank you to those who attended, it was great seeing everyone. Our next meeting will be on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 6:30 P.M. in Room 366!
