Gratitude, Growth & Genuine Connections 💜

Thank you to Fifth Third Bank for the opportunity to participate in the Business Empowerment Event this weekend as one of your speakers and business partners.While the turnout may not have been large, the impact was powerful because I got to meet one of Fifth Third Bank SBA business client relationship manager.

I also,had the pleasure of meeting five incredible business professionals individuals I had never met before—and I’m thrilled to share that each one signed up for a discovery call to learn how Dynamic Training & Growth Services™ can support their business journey.

Sometimes, it’s not about the numbers—it’s about the quality of connection, the power of purpose, and the willingness to show up ready to serve.

Often we get come into a company, country or function and they at least bring 2-3 people they previously worked with and given leadership roles whilst those they found there will argue to say we know the team and how this function operates...but are overlooked.

On reflection of my own experience, this is like a big blow to your belly, you now have to teach your newly appointed boss who has no clue about the business function how to do their job, incases where this new person is new to the company.

However over the years and now in leadership positions, I get it why the new leader would bring in people they previously work with. In most cases they trust them to do their job and let them know what is being discussed, discoveries and will provide an honest opinion of the presented new challenge. Unfortunately it is less likely to get that from the existing team members as in somecases some of them want you to fail just because you got the job over them.

The individuals the new leaders bring with them. they will protect and stick up for them in meetings or general peer discussions. We see this time and time in in public offices....not naming names.

The game at the top of the leadership triangle, is very different, cut throat and you can easily be fired and not able to get a job for sometime, hence the leaders at least bring in a couple of people they trust and will back them in their absence and work hard along side them.

The above is frustrating and not fair on the rest of the team, but unfortunately this is where that particular new leader had to act in his best interest to be able to perform their job successfully which in turn also benefits you as the team or company will perform well.

In summary, I hate such scenarios described above but I understand why they occur. These situations result in loosing great performers and team moral will dive. If you are frustrated enough for it to affect your performance, then may be it's time to think or finding another role internally or externally.
