For Florida business owners, COOs, and HR leaders, turnover rarely ends with a job posting.
The visible expenses are easy to count. The harder costs are the open role, the time managers spend covering it, the learning curve for a new hire, and the client knowledge that may leave with the employee.
Gallup reports that 42% of employees who left voluntarily in its analysis said their departure could have been prevented. Its research also estimates replacement costs can vary by role: from about 40% of annual salary for frontline employees to 80% for professionals and 200% for leaders and managers.
Benefits are not a guarantee against turnover, and they are not the only reason people stay or leave. But health coverage and other benefits can be an important part of how employees evaluate the support they receive at work. SHRM’s 2025 Employee Benefits Survey found that 88% of employers rated health benefits as very or extremely important.
