Open your Notes app and make three lists:

1. Things people ask you about.
2. Products or tools you recommend all the time.
3. Things you know how to do that would save someone else time, money, or frustration.

Now look for the overlap. That’s where I’d start!

Your first (or next) income stream doesn’t have to come from some genius business idea you’ve never thought of before.

It might come from packaging, sharing, or recommending something that’s already part of your everyday life.

Before you convince yourself you need another course, certification, or brand-new skill to start a side hustle, look at what you already know how to do! 👀

Some of the best ways to create extra income can come from skills you’re already using every day.

👉Turn your professional experience into consulting or coaching.
👉Offer a skill as a freelance service.
👉Package something you know into a digital product.
👉Create journals, workbooks, guides, or other resources through Amazon KDP.
👉Teach or tutor something you’re good at.
👉Content creation, UGC, or a local service can become an income stream when it solves a real problem for someone else.

I’ve tried several of these myself, and that’s exactly why I’m such a believer in starting with your skills instead of constantly searching for the “perfect” side hustle.

So ask yourself this: What do people already come to me for help with? There might be a business hiding in your answer.

One income stream in 2026 feels a little like going to brunch and only ordering water. Technically, you can. But, why? 😂

I’ve tried a lot of ways to make money over the years. Consulting, Amazon KDP, digital products. Some worked better than others, and some taught me exactly what I didn’t want to do again.

You don’t have to marry every income stream you try. You’re allowed to experiment, make a few bucks, change your mind, try something else, and eventually land on the things that actually make sense for your life.

So stop putting so much pressure on yourself to come up with the “perfect” idea. Sometimes you just need to make a move and see where it takes you.

Making your first $100 outside of your paycheck doesn’t have to be complicated.

Let’s say you’re the friend everyone asks to fix their resume. Instead of doing it for free again, offer three resume reviews for $35 each. That’s $105! 🙌

Or maybe you’re great at using Canva. Offer to create five social media graphics for a local business for $100.

That’s how I want you to start thinking about making extra income. I’ve made money through freelancing, consulting, digital products, Amazon KDP and affiliate marketing, but I didn’t wake up one morning with five perfectly planned income streams. I tried things, used skills I already had, and figured out what people would actually pay me for.

So skip Netflix tonight and come up with ONE $100 offer. Write down exactly what you’ll do, what you’ll charge and who you can offer it to. Then send it to five people.

You’re not building an empire tonight, you’re trying to make your first $100. And that first $100 can change the way you look at your skills forever. 🤩

I swear my brain is always connecting the dots! 🙃

I’ll be in the middle of doing something and suddenly I’m like, “Wait…this could be another income stream!” 😂

That’s honestly how it’s happened for me over the years with consulting, Amazon KDP, selling digital products, and affiliate marketing. None of them started because I had some perfect master plan, but because I stayed curious and was willing to try.

You probably have skills that could make you extra money too, you just haven’t looked at them that way yet.
