Meet Cristina, our newest Hook & Blade intern!👩💻
🏴☠️ Introduction
I was born in Florida, but lived most of my life internationally in Saudi Arabia and Switzerland! Through these experiences, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to so many awesome and unique places like Mongolia and Bali. I’m currently earning my Bachelors of Science in Marketing at the University of South Florida with a minor in environmental policy, and am happy to call Tampa home (for now).
🏴☠️ Something most people don’t know about you?
I love baking! Whenever I have the time, I love to bake anything from scratch. A few staples at my house are dark chocolate cake, traditional Tres Leches, or classic chocolate chip cookies. I try my best to avoid box recipes because it’s so fun to experiment with different recipes and ingredients to make a baked good more fun! But beware, don’t ask me to cook you anything…
🏴☠️ What was your journey to Hook & Blade?
I’d been searching for an internship for over a year and had been constantly updating and checking my LinkedIn and Handshake accounts. After giving up for a couple of months, I finally returned to the job search and updated my resume, and a few days later I’d received a message from Rachel looking to see if I was interested. I applied, interviewed, and got the job! I’m so happy to be here and learning new things from an awesome mentor!
🏴☠️ What is your key to creativity?
That’s a tough one, but I’d have to say it’s music. Music has always been a huge part of my life since I was five years old and picked up the violin, eventually transitioning to voice and teaching myself how to play the ukulele. Whatever music I listen to first thing in the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day, so I always try and listen to some of my favorite playlists on Spotify!
