Tampa Bay Training’s open-enrollment schedule is now available through December 31, 2026—and our complete 2027 schedule will be posted next week!

Most classes are delivered LIVE ONLINE with an instructor, allowing participants to ask questions, interact with the class, and complete required evaluations and examinations remotely.

Our expanding open-enrollment schedule includes:

• FDOT Temporary Traffic Control: Flagger, Intermediate, Advanced, and refresher classes
• FDEP FSESCI: Stormwater BMP Installer and Qualified Inspector
• OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training
• Stormwater, NPDES/MS4, and workplace-safety training
• Introduction to Forklift Safety
• Supervision, management, leadership, conflict resolution, project management, and other workforce-development programs

We also periodically offer IN-PERSON open-enrollment classes when one of our clients makes additional seats available to the public. Availability, prerequisites, and delivery formats vary by course, so please review the individual listing before registering.

Yesterday, we celebrated the birth of our nation and the freedoms that unite us as Americans.

Today, I’d like to recognize another reason our country remains strong—the people who build, operate, and maintain the infrastructure that makes our communities safe, healthy, and economically vibrant.

Every day, dedicated professionals in public works, utilities, transportation, engineering, construction, parks, stormwater, water and wastewater, and local government work behind the scenes to keep America moving. They ensure clean drinking water reaches our homes, roads and bridges remain safe, traffic moves efficiently, wastewater is treated responsibly, and communities are prepared before, during, and after emergencies.

These professionals rarely seek recognition, yet their work touches every American every single day.

It is a privilege to support these men and women through education and professional development. By providing high-quality training, we help strengthen the workforce that builds and maintains the infrastructure our families, businesses, and future generations depend on.

Today, as we celebrate Independence Day and honor the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding, Tampa Bay Training proudly recognizes the generations of professionals whose dedication, skill, and service have helped build and sustain America.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the local government leaders, public works professionals, utility operators, engineers, construction workers, transportation specialists, emergency responders, environmental professionals, and countless others who work behind the scenes every day to keep our communities strong, safe, and thriving.

From the roads we travel and the water we drink, to the infrastructure that supports our quality of life, these essential professionals embody the spirit of service that has strengthened our nation for two and a half centuries.

If you are in the Pinellas Park area tomorrow, I would like to invite you to attend the APWA West Coast Branch Meeting. We have a lot of great topics and successes to discuss.

This meeting will be on May 26, 2026 at 10 am and will be held at the City of Pinellas Park's PWOC at 6250 82nd Ave N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781.

I will also be making a presentation entitled "Strategic Stewardship for the Next Era of Public Works". This presentation will address the relationship between workforce development, leadership and asset management.

Our Customer Service Manager at Tampa Bay Training will be holding regular Forklift Operators Classes Online. This is a 2.5 hour class focused on the classroom portion of OSHA's Certification Requirements.

The Employer will be required to provide both the hands-on demonstration and evaluation as well as the maintenance of documentation to satisfy the standard requirements.

Cost is $77.08 A certificate and wallet card will be provided via mail within 2-weeks.

This year's theme “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community” acknowledges that the roots of service run deep in public works. It’s what has propelled public works innovations that have helped our communities evolve into places where people can lead lives of purpose and possibility. Some work—like building roads and bridges—is highly visible, while other public works contributions—like maintaining water and sewer systems—are sometimes hidden from view. Together, these efforts form the foundation of thriving communities, reminding us that every project, seen or unseen, powers the connection between service and the people it supports.

Held annually in May, National Public Works Week is a great way to energize and educate the public on the importance of public works in their daily lives.
