I don't normally ask for help, but I need the power of Facebook!

Missouri friends + leaders in energy, education, and rural development — SB 849 is moving through the Missouri Senate, and it would place a statewide moratorium on “new and current” solar projects beginning on the bill’s effective date.

That matters because this isn’t just about “solar companies.” It’s about communities.

At FemShe Energy (in partnership with experienced EPC/developer teams), our work is focused on keeping Missouri’s energy future local, affordable, and reliable — starting with schools first, and expanding impact across:
☀️ K-12 schools: access to power savings that help protect teacher jobs, programs, and services
☀️ Universities across the state: long-term price stability + reduced operating pressure
☀️ Rural hospitals and critical facilities: more predictable energy costs so they can focus resources where they belong — patient care
☀️ Farm families + landowners: a fair, voluntary opportunity to diversify income and strengthen rural economies
☀️ County tax bases + local services: solar projects add taxable property; the fiscal note even flags potential losses to local revenue if projects are delayed or prevented
☀️ Local manufacturing facilities to lower their carbon footprint

SB 849 would freeze construction on projects that aren’t fully completed and could extend the moratorium beyond December 31, 2027, if rules aren’t finalized. It also includes an emergency clause, meaning it could take effect immediately if signed.

What you can do today
1) If you believe Missouri communities deserve access to energy savings and locally built power, please write Senator Rusty Black (District 12) and ask him to oppose SB 849.
2) Be respectful, but be clear:
~ This bill is not fair to rural communities that rely on savings and investment.
~ Missouri needs an “all-of-the-above” energy approach and not a ban that stops progress midstream.
~ Schools, universities, and hospitals shouldn’t lose opportunities because of politics.

If you live in District 12 (or do business there), your voice matters even more.

If they pass this, it will hurt our LOCAL SCHOOLS, RURAL HOSPITALS, UNIVERSITIES, and BUSINESS!

Let’s protect Missouri’s right to build, invest, and strengthen our hometowns, with clean power that keeps dollars here. Please reach out to Senator Black and voice your concerns!

I know solar isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. There are definitely some strong opinions out there.

But I truly believe if more people could see what’s actually happening right here in Missouri, they might feel differently.

This isn’t just about panels in a field…

It’s about giving farmers a stable, sustainable income on land that may not always perform. It’s about keeping families on their farms, protecting generational legacies, and turning underperforming ground into something that works for them, not against them.

It’s about strengthening our rural communities, creating opportunity, keeping dollars local, and supporting schools, hospitals, and universities with more affordable power and real reinvestment back into what matters most.

You don’t have to love solar. But when you understand the impact it’s making for families and communities right here at home… It’s hard not to respect it. 🌱☀️🌻

Standing on this farm ground in Atchison County, Missouri, I don’t just see acres…

I see history, hard work, and generations of families who built their lives on this land.

I also see something else—opportunity.

Growing up on a farm, I saw firsthand what underperforming ground can do. The stress. The unpredictability. The years where you do everything right… and still don’t win.

That’s why this project matters.

This land is now positioned to become the first solar farm in Atchison County, not replacing agriculture, but evolving it.

👉 Turning underutilized acres into stable, long-term income
👉 Creating a new commodity: energy
👉 Keeping revenue right here in our rural communities
👉 Supplying local schools and universities with clean power

This isn’t just about solar panels.

This is about giving farmers another path forward, one that protects their land, supports their families, and creates generational impact.

I’m proud to be part of something that honors where we come from… while building where we’re going.

This is what the future of farming looks like.

My name is Liz Hunt, and I grew up in a close farming community. I watched my dad do what so many farmers do: make it happen no matter what.

I remember him in the field from sunup to sundown… coming home tired, worn down, but still showing up for our family. He didn’t complain. He just worked.

And I also remember the phrase I heard over and over:

“It’s not good enough… but next year will be better.”

That mindset is strong. It’s resilient. It’s honorable.

But it wasn’t good enough for me to watch my dad carry that year after year, because I know what happens when “next year” doesn’t come fast enough.

Too many families are forced to sell their family farms just to make ends meet.

Not anymore.

That’s the why behind FemShe Energy.

I started this company because I believe Missouri landowners deserve better options, options that can turn underperforming acres into long-term, life-changing income… so you’re not living season by season, not relying on operator’s loans, and not pushed into decisions you never wanted to make.

This is about protecting legacies and creating a bigger impact with the land you steward.

If you’ve got land that doesn’t produce as it used to, low-yield ground, wet spots, odd corners, rocky patches, acres you’re tired of fighting, and you’re curious what those acres could do instead, comment “LEGACY” or DM me “FemShe.”

Because “maybe next year” shouldn’t be the only plan, and selling the family farm shouldn’t be the outcome.
