that I recently had the privilege of being a guest on the Alcoholic Entrepreneur Podcast? 🤔

Now, the name of this podcast may lead you to believe that someone has built an entire podcast around a few people getting together to chat over some drinks about starting a business, but that couldn’t be further than the truth.

I even suggested to the host, Justin, that he rename it to The Recovering Alcoholic Entrepreneur Podcast but I digress. 😆

During my hour with Justin, we discussed my early childhood years that quite literally set the stage for the rest of my life experiences. It can be challenging especially if you're a private person, but here’s a thought. Being is a great way to build trust and deepen connections with clients. If you see the possibilities and potential results it can make the process of being transparent less threatening.

This is brought to you by performing! 🎭 When you’re performing in the way of business and living in the moment, you can listen really well to the tone of the other person, to the intention of the other person and you can bring the same mindfulness to your words when you speak in the same way an actor would.

That sense of self is the highest, most enlightened good. It’s a crystallization of everything that can be great in human interaction. That’s why I think sales can be an extraordinary career. 🙌

I was in a situation recently where a client who really wanted to retire was becoming more and more frustrated with the process (and timeline) of finding her replacement.

She eventually erupted on me and how I responded changed the path of our relationship entirely.

I've found that when you sit with someone through this experience, empathize with them and try to insert some humor into the situation you'll build an immense amount of trust.

Are you or only a little stitious? 😉 If you are, I have good news and bad news…
Good news: Your pre-sales rituals that boost your confidence aren't harming anyone.

Bad news: You're living in a fantasy world.

But we're all vulnerable to our silly superstitions. It comes from a need to have control. From a very young, inner child, part of ourselves.

My suggestion? Try to let go. Turn "letting go" into your new ritual or superstition.
