One of the best ways to protect yourself from online scams is by using strong passwords. While many people focus on complexity — adding symbols, numbers and capital letters — password length is equally important. A longer password or passphrase is harder for cybercriminals to crack. Create memorable phrases made up of several unrelated words, and avoid using personal information like birthdays or pet names. Use a unique password for each account and enable multi-factor authentication when possible.

UPDATE: As of 10 p.m., cooperative personnel have reduced the number of co-op members experiencing a power outage from just over 1,000 to 250 remaining. We will continue to work until all power has been restored.

ORIGINAL POST: Cooperative personnel are responding to several scattered outages associated with the severe thunderstorms passing through the region.
The largest outages are in the Birdsnest/Church Neck/Wilsonia Neck/Machipongo areas of Northampton County. We’re also responding to an outage in Cape Charles and Cobb Station Road.
We will work as safely and as quickly as possible to restore power to those co-op members affected.
