So, I haven't been on this platform profile for some time now, I was in a dark place. 😞
Where to start? 🤔
My life has changed for the better, thank God!
I have relocated to Panama, Central America, not Panama city, from the Florida keys.
I live on an island in an archipelago which has been designated a world heritage site on the Caribbean side of Panama, a dream come true for me! 🤗
I am still very actively involved in removing harmful invasive species from our environments, both terrestrial and marine.
My stepson, EJ, is running our business in the Florida keys, Invasive Species Control Specialists Inc, and I am removing lionfish once again, although my location has changed a bit from where I first started this challenging endeavor in Pensacola back in 2010, where I owned and operated the dive charter business Bluewater Adventures of Pensacola.
I have become involved in four separate non-profit organizations since my relocation.
The first is a big one, and multifaceted, Convergence US.
We work with PTSD veterans helping them deal with their issues post military service.
My job as the program director is to teach them how to, not only remove Lionfish from the environment safely, but how to clean them, and how to cook them. 😋
We also have a long range trawler, the "Ceaseless Explorer" which supports our multi-faceted missions throughout the Caribbean side of Panama.
She is a 56 foot long-range trawler and has been designated the SAR vessel for this area.
She also provides medical care for the indigenous peoples of the archipelago with an onboard clinic.
She is also the support vessel for dive operations and humanitarian aid missions, both here in Panama and Guatemala, where we were successful in our first mission to Casa Guatemala this last March.
Casa Guatemala is an orphanage which houses and nurtures between 200 and 300 orphans and is only accessible by water, this is where the Ceaseless Explorer comes in handy.
We have a "compound" where we provide assistance to those veterans in need.

What an honor and a privilege to be a part of such an amazing team in the efforts to prevent the spread of the Burmese python, an apex predator and invasive species devouring our native fauna.
