*Experiment*
The G***k 17L has a machined "void" in the slide directly under the left hand screw when milled for a direct fit optic. Keep in mind that the left hand screw is the long one and all we will have holding the optic on is the right hand screw which is the "short screw" with less thread engagement. Also, NO LOC-TITE!
Question: Does it really need 2 screws to be reliable, keep the optic mounted, hold zero, etc?
We're going to find out.

P.S. The hole that I cut in the slide on the left is for the "plug and weld" that we normally do for slides with a void. This will be done after the experiment has run it's course.

There's regular FDE and Coyote (HRS) available from Trijicon. We offer FDE PVD refinishing for slides. What works best? Let me show so you can decide for yourself!

The top slide has a regular FDE RMR, the bottom has an RM06 HRS (G19X color). Both are paired with our FDE PVD finish.

It's been years since a Nickel (Boron) coating was offered. And we have been asked by many to bring it back. The last company we used sold their lines and we had to find a new refinisher, period. Luckily, we did! We recently found out they offer a Nickel finish, not Nickel Boron, just Nickel. We had a customer that wanted that finish, so we had his slide done.

So, what do you think about the color?

Have you ever had an optic screw break with a pocket milled by ATEi? Legit question! Know why? The pocket is what takes the G forces of that slide cycling. The RM01 and the pocket took the abuse for YEARS, being racked off things hundreds of times. The screws never failed, the slide just broke. That's the durability of the ATEi Tight Fit pocket.

What happens when you continually bend thin metal back and forth? It breaks. What happens when the metal that breaks, is down in a hole? You have to have someone who knows what they are doing, remove it!

If you're going to run the thing that breaks the things, then you should know the guy that removes the broke things?

So he has a New Hotness to replace the Old and Busted! Today's the dignified declassification of the old slide and the swearing in his new slide! The old slide will always hold a place of honor here in the shop!
