🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — We Remember
Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
Nearly 3,000 people never made it home that day, including 343 firefighters and 23 NYPD officers who gave their lives while running toward danger to help others.
Behind every number was a person — a husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, friend and fellow firefighter. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness will never be forgotten.
On that day, firefighters from across New York City answered the call, many entering the World Trade Center knowing only that people needed help. They climbed the stairs while others were coming down.
Their sacrifice reminds us of what it truly means to serve:
Courage. Sacrifice. Brotherhood. Service.
Today, we remember the fallen, honor their families, and hold close the firefighters and first responders who continue to carry their memory forward.
