I spent this past weekend in Lansing, NC, at Lost Province Center for Cultural Arts teaching 5 students how to weave beautiful stool seats on oak stools in one of several patterns including single diamond, double diamond, straight twill, and herringbone. This is a new and growing arts program that resides in this beautiful stone school building in Ashe County. The school was built in the late 1930's as a WPA project and is receiving much needed tender losing care by a very enthusiastic group of volunteers.
