Actionable Tips for Photographers to leverage social media effectively:

1️⃣ High quality content! You want to establish a consistent presence with your audience and share high quality images that showcase your photography skills and unique style.

2️⃣ Engage for goodness sake! Social media is ALL about building relationships and engaging with your followers. Take the time to respond to comments, messages etc.. When you engage in conversation and provide helpful tips and insights it builds a strong rapport with them and can lead to increased visibility and potential clients and or referrals.

3️⃣ Collaborate with influencers or local businesses! Make sure they align with your target audience first. Example, I’d look for a local fashion boutique and do a shoot with my Senior Influencer team. These types of collaborations can expose your work to a new audience and potential give you leads or partnerships.

Remember, social media success looks different for everyone. Monitor your analytics and refine your strategies to hit those goals. Most importantly stay AUTHENTIC to your business and showcase your unique style to stand out from the crowd!

What are you doing to build that trust with your potential clients? Better yet, how do you build trust? Your potential clients are watching you right now. They’ve already taken the first step by following you on social media, so NOW is the the time to build on that relationship. Here's where to start:⁠

🌱 I don't need to state the obvious but yes showcase your work. You should be posting your best portraits from photo sessions.⁠
🌱 Take it a step further, bring them on a shoot with you. Show them how a session with you will go. Go live if you can, or shoot some b-reel and create a reel or post it in stories. ⁠
🌱 Speaking of stories, this is where you should be nurturing your potential clients. (Remember their watching) show your day to day processes, talking about how & why you started your business. Share some Interesting facts about you and your life. Let them relate to you. 🖤⁠

I know you've heard this before, but you NEED to humanize your brand. Remember YOU are your brand and your brand is your business. ⁠

On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic. As a entrepreneur, you have to be willing to do the work to create YOUR dream business. Ask yourself, "Are you willing to do the work?" If you answered yes, congratulations your on the right track. Keep working and grinding, in the end it will be worth it. ⁠

I'm still talking about batch creating content. Some people like it others not so much. I like to call myself a "half" batcher lol, and yes I batch content every ✌🏻weeks. ⁠
⁠
Why? Because when I use to batch a whole month out, some of my content became somewhat irrelevant. (not completely but I had to re adjust the details etc) SO I started creating for 2 weeks out. This way the topics/trends of what I wanted to share were still "hot" & apart of my content strategy, if you will. If you're stuck on where to start with creating & batching, here's a few tips.⁠

➡️ Make sure you have solid content pillars. Strong pillars allow you to stay focused on your objectives. Pull your content from here. ⁠

➡️ Have a system. Really create what you can manage. This is so important, the best advice I can give to you to help your business grow in this space is to create what you can handle. This allows you to show up the way you can AND create meaningful content for your followers. ⁠

➡️ Use programs to help you create and plan your content. I've used a ton of schedulers to auto publish my content, my fave right now is LATER. You can auto publish, posts, stories, and reels. Another favorite to create videos is InShot. This is by far my fave video/photo program to create engaging content.⁠

✨ Bonus tip for my photog friends- Nail down your target audience, know who your talking to at all times. Think: what can I do to help or solve their problems. When this clicks the content will start to flow. ⁠

✌🏻There are two things in this crazy world that give me an overwhelming sense of peace (other than my husband & children) photography and coffee. Having a good cup of coffee in the morning, and I'm not talking about your local franchise "$***buks" I mean grinding fresh coffee beans and using a french press. That first cup is key, having a few moments to wake up and ponder how the day ahead will go. It gives me peace, and honestly it's the little things in life that actually are huge. This time helps me get in the right mindset for the day. And secondly photography, really what has it NOT given me. Photography has given me passion, lessons, it allows me to storytell and be creative. It's apart of who I am. For years I've let good ole imposter syndrome come and kick me down. Scared to put myself out there...⁠

Well not anymore. This is why I've decided to change the direction of "Thrive" → The Photographer Biz Coach. I've been in the photography business for over 12 years. I've learned so many lessons and I want to share everything! This will be a space for all photographers of all levels, and biz owners, to learn how to build a profitable business utilizing social media.
