π¬οΈ Temecula Valley β High Wind Warning: Thu 6am through Sat 8pm
This is an upgrade from the earlier Watch, and a day longer β it now runs through Saturday evening.
What to expect in Temecula:
β’ Thu: 89Β°, wind NNE ~11 mph, low 65Β°
β’ Fri β peak day: 90Β°, wind ENE ~21 mph, low 71Β° (warmest night)
β’ Sat: 87Β°, wind E ~15 mph, still breezy
For residents:
β’ Tonight: secure patio furniture, umbrellas, shade sails, trampolines, trash bins, potted plants β anything that can blow.
β’ Charge phones, portable batteries, flashlights. Outage risk here is wind damage, not a shutoff (see below).
β’ Friday will be hot + windy + warm overnight. Close blinds early, cool the bedroom ahead of Friday night, and check on elderly neighbors.
For contractors / job sites:
β’ Secure loose materials, roofing, siding, tarps, scaffolding, fencing, dumpsters, and porta-potties before Thu 6am. Re-check Friday morning β Friday is the peak.
β’ Tie down or remove loose debris. Protect open roofs.
β’ Postpone roofing, stucco, painting, and exterior work during the Friday peak if it's not safe. Tell clients about schedule shifts now, not Friday morning.
β’ Dust + debris will be up β eye protection, dust control, and secure trailers/ladders.
β’ Dry + windy = no open burning, watch grinding/spark work.
Power note: SCE is considering shutoffs for up to 245,700 customers in LA, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Kern, and Tulare counties β and hasn't decided. Riverside / Temecula is not in the named counties.
Prep for a wind-damage outage, not a shutoff.
Stay safe, secure it tonight, and look out for each other.
