Oh darling girl,
Your 5th Grade Promotion looked nothing like we imagined it would. Like so many other people, we had to adapt and do the best with what we had. Your ability to roll with the obstacles (even when we wanted to pull out our hair) and distribute the grace, encouragement and forgiveness inspires me endlessly. You are a treasure from heaven above and I am humbled to be chosen to ride along in this life with you. I look forward to watching your dreams unfold and seeing your sweet spirit infiltrate the world around you. You are a powerhouse of compassion, humor and love and Jesus is going to use you mightily. Saddle up sweet child...on to the middle school years.

Hi Friends!

It's been a few minutes since I've posted and I'm realizing how much I've missed this photography arena. So, I'm back! In between substitute teaching and the mom stuff, I need my creative outlet of photography as well as the ability to connect with my people!

Additionally, while putting away our Christmas decorations (don't worry, it was done several weeks ago), I realized two things. The first is that I absolutely LOVE the Christmas/Holiday card tradition. As in, I could almost forgo a Christmas tree if I knew that I could open the mail each day to an abundance of festive greetings on beautiful stationery and all the sweet photos. I love your cards and cherish each one!

The second situation I'm cringing over is that my family of 5 desperately needs an updated photo! Seeing all of your lovely, fresh, family photos (a couple of which I had the compete honor of taking!) has motivated me to get some new photos of my crew too; a new family photo is on my very critical TO DO list in the next few months.

And if it happens to be on your TO DO list for 2020 as well, I would be so thrilled to help update your family photo collection. Please let me know if you'd like to schedule a session sometime this year (before the beloved Christmas/Holiday Card season arrives!) so that we can all spread some serious JOY next December.

One of the hardest parts of my job is the time I spend going through the originals of a session. Generally, there are between 200-300 photos taken for each session and I have to choose 5-10% of those to edit and showcase.

While not all 300 photos are going to be print worthy (they're not!!), these raw images piece together what these families lives really look like. Their personalities, senses of humor, sibling compassion/rivalry, inside family jokes, tenderness are always evident. It's hard to choose a handful of images, but I feel privileged to get a true glimpse into their life.

I am so thankful when given the opportunity to simply follow these young hearts and capture some of their most pure moments. Trust me when I say, the unedited originals of these sweet little guys, are priceless.

These girls!

Oh my stars, they are such a riot and hold a piece of my heart! If you've done a photo session with me and have little ones, you've probably seen my little white rocking chair.
Sweet 2 Year Old Ali, did not want to exit that chair for the entire session!! We obliged, bribed and we all won in the end; captured some great memories for this amazing family. Love them!

Loved doing these senior photos for a special family...this young man's dry sense of humor had us all rolling. The future is promising and bright for this one; his confidence, integrity and humor will take him places. Oh, the places you'll go.
