Inspections Tech
Horizon Solar Power – Hemet, CA
Inspection Tech must be a driven results-oriented individual who excels in highly collaborative and cross-functional environments. He will be primarily a field agent conducting inspections on behalf of the company at our client’s residences. Strong coordination skills along with a drive to complete the task assigned make a successful candidate for this position.
This position also supports the Construction Managers with field resources to complete tasks remaining on projects and completing the inspection at the same time. Examples include, but are not limited to, working together with the Construction Operations teams and the Horizon Design Engineering Team to resolve any jurisdictional corrections and prepare for upcoming requirement changes; working together with the Safety and Field Efficiency and Quality teams to ensure compliance on Horizon Solar Power safety and quality standards for inspections.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist Construction Managers with training, best practices, coordinating permitting and inspection personnel
• Coordinate cross-functionally with other team leaders (operations, sales, customer care, accounting, etc.,) to align permit and inspection needs with overall business needs
• Act as the subject matter expert of the inspection process and adapt to local AHJ requirements when necessary.
• Execute initiatives pertaining to permitting and inspection process changes, as well as tool & software improvements
• Be an advocate for Horizon and work with local jurisdictions to streamline permit processes
• Challenge conventional industry/internal thinking and practice to find new ways to make the customer’s experience with Horizon better than the competition
• Ability to read plans and assess installation photographs to prepare for inspections by identifying deficiencies in the installation versus local codes and ordinances
• Organize activities in a timely fashion to remedy the deficiencies necessary at the project site to pass inspection.
Performance:
• The position is graded on first-time pass rate, with a goal of 85% or higher
Requirements:
• Photovoltaic Solar experience, and knowledge of NEC code required
• Exposure to PV design and installation processes is required
• Must be a motivated team player, looking to succeed

Physical Demands:
• Ability to drive and travel to multiple sites throughout the day
• Ability to perform normal office duties
• Ability to operate office equipment including computers and determine the accuracy of work
• Ability to interact and participate in meetings
• Ability to bend, stoop, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to set and climb extension ladders up to 32’
