Today, I took 20 minutes out of my workday to speak to my son’s 3rd grade class about entrepreneurship, discovering their gifts, and the kinds of businesses they could start — even at their age.

The engagement, the excitement, the creativity… it was incredible to witness. But the best part? Seeing my son’s face while his mom stood in front of his class doing what she loves. The pride, the joy, the surprise when he learned that I’m not only an author, but that the book became a documentary.

What made the moment even more full circle is realizing that when we were on tour for the documentary… that’s when I found out I was pregnant with him.

Life has a beautiful way of connecting the dots.

Moments like today remind me why I love entrepreneurship and remote work. The flexibility to pause, pour into children, inspire young minds, and remind them that their gifts are enough. That they can be CEOs, founders, creators, and leaders right now — not “one day.”

A special thank you to for the invitation and for allowing me the opportunity to speak life, confidence, and possibility into your students today.

What a way to end the week.
Pure joy. Pure purpose. Pure gratitude. ✨

This evening was a meaningful time of service at Our Place Waldorf.

My middle son and I had the opportunity to volunteer together, helping wherever we were needed—whether that meant working in the back cooking, filling in where support was needed most, or serving meals to the community.

Together, we helped serve nearly 200 meals this Sunday.

What stayed with me most wasn’t just the number of meals served—it was watching the next generation show up with kindness, respect, and a willingness to serve others. Seeing young people step into community work matters.

It reminds us that compassion is taught, modeled, and passed on.

There is still a strong need for volunteers, and Sundays have recently been added to the schedule. If you’ve been looking for a way to make a real impact, this is your sign.

You can volunteer individually, bring your family, church group, coworkers, students, or organization—or even sponsor and provide a meal service.

Service changes communities, but it also changes us.

Join us at Our Place Waldorf and be part of something bigger.

I had the privilege of speaking with students at CMIT North Elementary School in Prince George’s County for Career Day about entrepreneurship, ownership, and turning their gifts into opportunities.

I shared with them that they do not have to wait until adulthood to dream big. The talents they have right now—whether it’s creativity, gaming, baking, helping others, designing, organizing, or leading—can all become future businesses and careers.

As the founder of CYNASSISTS, I believe in showing the next generation that success can look like leadership, service, innovation, and building something of your own.

The best part was leaving those classrooms knowing the students felt inspired. That is what warms my heart every single time. If one child walked away believing they can create their own future, then the mission was accomplished.
Many thanks to the educators, staff, and every professional who took time to pour into the students today. Your presence matters more than you know.

Special thank you to my sis, Chanel Carter, for the invitation. I truly appreciate you. Until next time!

Still processing the power of the ABFE Harambee Conference in San Francisco this week. As a first-time attendee, I can honestly say: wow.

From the plenary sessions to wellness experiences, the marketplace, and every hallway conversation in between, the intention behind this gathering was undeniable. The theme, Building a Bridge for a Brighter Future, was not just words—it was felt in every room.

I had the privilege of attending alongside colleagues from , where I continue learning how philanthropy can create lasting impact for children, families, and communities. Being in spaces like this reminds me that leadership in philanthropy is about listening, building relationships, and moving resources with purpose.

Some of my favorite moments happened outside the sessions too—early morning walks with brilliant women from across the country, meaningful conversations, and a visit to Red Bay Coffee, where community and hospitality were on full display. Those moments of connection matter just as much as the formal programming.

This conference also reminded me how interconnected our journeys truly are. Running into former colleagues, clients, and fellows from was a full-circle moment. It affirmed that when you lead with service, excellence, and authenticity, your impact continues long after the first introduction.

I left inspired—not only by what philanthropy can be, but by what becomes possible when Black leaders, allies, co-creators, and co-conspirators gather with intention.

Grateful for the experience. Grateful for the lessons. Grateful for the relationships.

Looking forward to continuing the conversations, deepening the work, and doing my part to help build a brighter future.

I Celebrate Me.

Just closed out Day 3 of the ABFE Harambe Conference in San Francisco and wearing my new piece I purchased in the market place from Shee Apparel, and baby… this shirt said everything before I even opened my mouth.

" She Remembered"

A reminder: celebrate yourself daily. Celebrate every room you walk into, every table you sit at, every connection you make, every gift you carry, and every lesson that shaped you.

Celebrate your growth. Celebrate your presence. Celebrate even your silence.

God positioned your path for the spaces you occupy now. Walk in that. Own that. Honor that.
You are as dope as they come.
Period.

We Need You, Southern Maryland 💛

At Our Place Waldorf, every meal we serve is powered by community—and we’re inviting you to be a part of that impact. Our Place Waldorf Soup Kitchen

As a volunteer and Board Member, I want to personally invite you to get involved—not just during organized give-back moments, but year-round.

We’ve recently updated our schedule, and we now have NEW volunteer openings on Sundays

(3PM–7PM), along with opportunities on:

Mondays & Thursdays
Saturdays & Sundays

We are also actively seeking sponsors for dinner services on Mondays & Thursdays, and we welcome individuals, organizations, and community groups to step in and support.

Bring your organization. Bring your team. Bring your family.

Invite your ministries, colleagues, students—even your children—to serve and be part of something bigger. This is how we build legacy and community at the same time.

Through Cynassists, we host quarterly give-back initiatives, and you can always check those out at www.cynassists.com—but I encourage you to also plug in beyond those moments.

Today I poured into something that matters deeply to me—our young kings. 👑

Attending the Empower Him Summit EmpowerHIM EmpowerMe Parent/Son Summit was a first for me… but definitely not my last.

What I appreciated most was the intentionality—this wasn’t just for the boys, it was for the parents too. From co-sessions together, to age-specific spaces for our sons, and dedicated conversations for parents… every detail was thoughtfully curated.

One of the most powerful moments for me was the all-Black male panel speaking on co-parenting, fatherhood, and mental health. Representation matters—and even in observation, our sons are always learning.

And the closing… whew.

Pinning my sons with their King pins 👑 shifted my perspective. It reminded me that the seeds we plant are taking root—and sometimes sooner than we realize.

As a mother of boys, it’s important for me to raise strong, aware, and empowered Black men. While I often serve in spaces uplifting women and girls, being in a room intentionally pouring into our young men was refreshing and necessary.

Thank you Ms. Coffey Olivia Coffey and the EmpowerME Youth team for creating such a powerful experience—and shoutout to all the vendors we connected with today. Community matters.

I’m leaving full… and committed.

There are many rooms I will walk into, many spaces I will occupy, and many tables I will sit at… all because of my children.

Because investing in the next generation isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we live.

Last week I had the opportunity to read to my son’s class. When I walked through the door and saw his eyes light up, it reminded me that the smallest moments of presence can have the biggest impact.

Titles, meetings, and accomplishments will always have their place, but the opportunity to show up for our children and their communities is a different kind of leadership.

It’s the kind that shapes confidence.
It’s the kind that reminds them they are supported.

It’s the kind that shows them what it means to be present.

Grateful that I get to occupy many spaces — but even more grateful that I get to show up in the ones that matter most.

Investing in the next generation starts right here.
